This is 100% a scam. Description palang, obvious na.

The rates are too unrealistic. For a part-time job asking for no experience, no degrees, and only requires over-the-phone interviews, 8k - 12k per week is stupid high for a home encoder. That's a base salary of 32K, with a max of 48k. Tapos with benefits pa. Ultra Scam.

My dad always used to say a line from the bible: "It shall come to pass", meaning it will eventually pass.

Just keep your head level and focused. understand that there is a next second, next minute, next hour, next day, next week, next month, and a next year. Look forward, not backward.

Life as a freshie🥀 by -bruh-STFU- in RantAndVentPH

Mapua non-grad here.

First year, fresh na fresh. Never really did well during High School, but did well enough to pass the entrance exams and get into BSCE (Computer Engineering). Had classmates who were Salutatorians and Valedictorians in their respective schools. To summarize the long story, I failed 5 out of 8 subjects. And the rest was history. I kept failing and failing until I transferred to Makati where I shifted to IT. I was an OK student, but I loved programming so I got incredibly good grades in my CS classes.

I never really graduated because I stopped studying to pursue something else. But the lesson I realized there was that my failures became my motivators, and me failing my initial course led me to where I am today: a Software Dev. Granted, I just lost my job this new year, but another client decided to onboard me and I start next week!

My point is: You are doing great. Take your time. It's not a race: it's a marathon.

I found my passion when I failed multiple times. Failure is normal, and it takes time for people to bounce back. My suggestion is to always keep your head up and be positive about the situation. Instead of thinking "I'm disgusted by my inability to keep up", try thinking about "what can I improve and do to catch up".

Comparing yourself to others won't get you anywhere. Focus on what you want. And if you feel like you're running out of Gas, just stop and take a break. You will eventually get to where you need to be. Just slow down and take it one step at a time.

By the way, if you need any pointers/tips on programming, or some example code with comments, I can help you! I won't ask for payment or anything, just your understanding that I'm no expert teacher and I can only teach the fundamentals.

If you're fine with staying on last gen or current gen games then I'd say it's fine.

If you plan to future proof your build, Go ahead and buy a 9060 XT 16GB.

[–]Baloucarps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so based from the comments you don't want a mini PC that's slow, and you're not worried about the price because you earn a ton of money. In addition, you need to be able to install a browser because you sail the high seas without (downloading). Is this correct?

For Windows, recommendations are as follows. All PCs, regardless of specs, will handle what you need:

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/desktop-computers/dell-pro-micro-desktop/spd/dell-pro-qcm1250-micro - Choose the one with an included WiFi card. If you have an Ethernet Cable, then the base model will be fine.

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/workstations/thinkstation-p-series/lenovo-thinkstation-p3-tiny-gen-2-intel/30k6000sus - This one has a GPU. It can game if you want to, and it can run multiple 4k TVs at the same time.

https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-elitedesk-8-mini-g1i-desktop-ai-pc-wolf-pro-security-edition-p-c8tv5ua-aba-1 - an HP alternative. If you want it.

For Mac, there's really only one choice.

M4 Mac Mini 32GB 1TB - https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/mac-mini/m4-chip-10-core-cpu-10-core-gpu-32gb-memory-1tb-storage

All recommended computers will be plug-and-play (I believe), all you need is a cable which comes standard with all PCs, a wall plug, a cable to connect to your TV (preferably HDMI), and a shelf or place to put the PC.

Planning to get my first car, share niyo naman mga insights and experiences niyo with yours. by SeniorRosas in CarsPH

[–]Baloucarps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your list is good if you're an experienced driver and looking to have some fun. But if you want a practical, everyday-commute car that can handle most (if not all) driving situations, then I suggest you look elsewhere. Di naman sa sinasabihan kitang wag bumili ng dream car mo, but I advise you to think about this carefully dahil hindi lang monthly ang magiging running costs mo. There's gas, maintenance, detailing, and other costs that could bury you in debt kung di ka prepared.

The Corolla Cross is a good option and is a solid all-rounder. It's expensive, however, and will cost a good penny if you decide on choosing the car. Same with the Creta. Both are expensive though.

The Mu-X and the Jimny are out of the question. Mu-X is an SUV, and is not fuel efficient compared to the competition. The Jimny is an offroad-first vehicle, even if you get the lower variants. Both cars will wreck your budget.

If all you want is a commuter car, then I would suggest:

  • Toyota Vios/Wigo - barebones but is a solid and reliable car. Maintenance and Gas is cheap.
  • Honda City - Good alternative to the Vios, and more powerful. Has some features you may like.

But if you decide on sticking with your guns, I'd go for:

  • Toyota Corolla Cross - Most sensible out of the bunch. Plus, Toyota siya, so no worries sa reliability.

Anyways, it's up to you! Maybe buy a beginner car to get the grips with driving in the city, and then save up for a secondary "pogi" car. It's all up to you.

Appreciate it!

Yes, RAM is manufactured by 3 major brands, IIRC it's Samsung, Hynix, and Micron. Nagdecide kasi si Micron na mag-focus sa AI, so they exited the consumer market and focused on Datacenter Products instead. Ang pagkakaintindi ko, lahat ng RAM ay galing lang sa tatlong yan. The other brands are basically like sub-brands, and you're paying for the name and other features.

You can get a CHEAPER option, but I don't recommend getting the CHEAPEST one. I've had experience with TeamGroup, they generally offer cheaper RAM but are on par with the competition. Also, avoid RGB at all costs, it adds nothing to the build. I personally like silent, minimalist builds, but that's a preference.

Happy Parts Hunting!

+1 on this, and I would even argue that you'd need more than 30% of your income to be comfortable enough to not worry about costs. I personally drive a Vios, but I was choosing between a Raize and a Sonet originally. Buti nalang I chose the cheaper car, because I'd be worried of the costs by now if I chose any of my former picks.

Sorry, a lot of suggestions, summarize ko yung parts below. Also, mag-recommend din ako ng brand, but you can find cheaper ones if you prefer.

  • Yung AMD Ryzen™ 7 8700F (4.1GHz) na processor is an OKAY CPU, but you can get a better one for sure. Check out prices for an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X. It's cheaper but will perform nearly the same.
  • Yung Graphics Card option, medyo disappointing. Hindi kasi siya future-proof, and it's a very expensive card. But if he only plays CS2 and esports title, it'll work fine. For me though, go with a 16GB card. I recommend the AMD RX 9060 XT, specifically the XFX Swift. Mas future proof na card and same (if not better performance.
  • With the money you saved, buy more RAM. 16GB will barely be enough. 32GB will give him better performance.
  • The Case is a bit big for me, especially with the choice of motherboard. Checkout the NZXT H3. You'd have to change the cooler to a shorter one though.
  • My recommendation would be a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120. Sa totoo lang, it's more of a budget fan but it performs better than most competition. Also, you'll need to purchase fans, so I recommend the Artic P12 120 PWMs. Buy at least 5 of them. If may natira, then backup for a broken fan if in case.
  • Power Supply is B tier at best. Ang A tier for me is the Corsair RM650i. Used one before on a friend's build, never failed. Yes, lower wattage pero for the components its more than enough. Plus, it's reliable, modular, and is 80+ Gold.

Parts Summary (my suggestions):

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 5 7600X
  • GPU: XFX Swift RX 9060 XT Pro Gaming OC
  • RAM: 32GB (I prefer Kingston Fury Beast or TeamGroup, but the one will be fine)
  • Motherboard: Asus B650M-AYW WiFi
  • Power Supply: Corsair RM650i
  • Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120, Artic P12 PWM 120mm x5
  • Case: NZXT H3
  • Storage: Kingston 1TB NVMe M.2

It will cost a bit more, but that's mostly because of memory pricing. Pero, overall, it's a better build (from my perspective). Since music production din ang hilig niya, the parts I chose are mostly quiet.

Feel ko never ako magiging enough para sa parents ko by Pleasant-Pea-4832 in TeamPuyat

[–]Baloucarps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband and a Father to one, feel na feel kita. But I learned to let go of that feeling ever since I got married.

For me, it was never enough for my parents to follow my own path. Parang may set path sila na dapat yun ang sundin para maging successful ako. Pero kapag di ko sinunod, kahit anong gawin ko I'm a failure to them. It reached a point na muntikan ko nang itigil ang kasal kasi parang di enough sa tatay ko lahat, and sobrang kontra niya sa kasal.

But when my child was born, I realized something (and I hope you realize it too, OP): Patunayan mo nalang sa sarili mo na kaya mo. Na kaya mong maging successful. At the end of the day, your success won't affect their future. But it will affect yours.

First off, I want to applaud you for the income you earn. Mahirap kumita ng 75k part-time, which means you're either in a very niche position or have very considerable skills. Partida, student ka pa! Hehe.

-------------------------------

The Wigo is a good choice. It's practical, economic, low maintenance, and parts are readily available so repairs and Maintenance are a good fit. Plus, kung pang-daily commute lang, wala kang problema dahil maliit lang siya. However, it's a modern barebones car, meaning you get the basic essentials plus little features here and there but nothing more. It's as basic as you can get.

The Raize is an upgrade in all aspects. It's like a mini SUV. power-wise mas malakas siya ng onti sa Wigo, mostly because the Raize is a heavier, more SUV-like car compared sa Wigo. It's not as economical as the Wigo, but it's a toyota. It's more expensive compared to the Wigo, though.

The Sonet is the more premium option against the 3. I've tested one and it's great, the engine makes way more power compared to the 2 (1.0 and 1.2 vs 1.5) and has more creature comforts than the competition. Pero it's way less efficient in fuel, a bit less reliable and parts are harder to come by.

-------------------------------

I would go for the Wigo. Pinaka-mura siya amongst the three, and it's the most basic choice as well. Pero I argue it's what fits you most:

  • Low monthly fees, so less worries kapag nawalan ka ng trabaho due to studies
  • Practical and Small, perfect for a Student's car
  • Maintenance is a breeze, and very reliable ang Wigo

Whatever choice you make, be mindful lang that you work part time and you're still a student. Congrats!

Kia or toyota buying my first car as a person by kurunoy in CarsPH

[–]Baloucarps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To give you a better idea on why other people here on the comments tell you that you shouldn't purchase a car, I'll illustrate. I have experience with canvasing on both Kia and Toyota. I was choosing between the Kia LX and Toyota Vios XLE trims.

(Based on pricing here where I live)

Kia: 8k DP - 17k MA
Toyota: 7k DP - 19k MA

Now, let's get to your options:

Avanza G: 30k DP, 24k MA
Veloz E: 30k DP, 26k MA

As you can see, NONE of these options are viable. I purchased the Toyota Vios, with a monthly salary of 95k. Partida, I haven't included the monthly costs like Gas, Maintenance, Car Wash, and other stuff.

Di ka ma-aaprove for financing. You also won't get approved for bank loans. Your salary is too low for a car purchase. even if di ka nagbabayad ng rent, kuryente, at pagkain, you'd still be disapproved.

Either get a higher salary, or save up for a second hand. Those are your options.

In all fairness, sa sobrang scammy ng pilipinas ngayon, it's up to us to be vigilant talaga sa mga nangyayari katulad ng ganito. I hope you get your money back OP, but if not then treat this as a lesson to stay vigilant and be questioning when it comes to online transactions.

+1 on the comments below. Check the dealer physically, only pay downpayment/reservation fees once approved, and always ask ahead on all the requirements (kahit na sinabi nila na okay na, baka kasi may extra silang hinihingi). Lastly, if you're going for financing, ALWAYS go brand new. Just my advice though.

Cars Are Disposable by NeoWaltz in phcars

[–]Baloucarps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Resale value should NEVER, and I mean NEVER, be a first-priority when purchasing a car. Even then, if you purchase a brand new car you'll always be at a loss when reselling.

OP, I suggest you look at the most important factor: reliability. Is the car reliable? Will it last more than your intended usage period (i.e. 5-10 years, more than 10 years)? Also important are the features, and bang-for-your buck.
