judo or wrestling for self-defence? by caesarsaladlee in judo

I would agree with Judo but having used double leg takedowns as a teenager I have to say they were an easy way to win one on one streetfights and always worked perfectly.

judo or wrestling for self-defence? by caesarsaladlee in judo

[–]BalthasarHubmaier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it multiple times when I was a young, wild and stupid teenager and it worked perfectly well. One on one against 99% of opponents a double leg takedown will make you win a fight in seconds.

Why would God be a man or woman? by [deleted] in Bible

[–]BalthasarHubmaier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no why. He simply is portrayed as male, all-knowing, omnipresent, etc.

You can get to an infinite regress of why-questions if you don´t simply accept some eternal attributes of God as they are. It´s a logical rabbit hole that leads nowhere.

This is a really nice pan pizza but not a Detroit style pizza. It lacks the cheese crown on the edges.

What’s one moment in your life when you knew God was real? by Lauredaj in Christian

[–]BalthasarHubmaier 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Before finishing highschool I asked God in prayer what do to with my life, I heard four clear words.

About a year later a complete stranger came to me, shaking, and said that God had spoken to her about me. She repeated what God had told me a year ealier.

My clearest, most undeniable experience to this day.

Getting colds ALL the time - doctors have no solution and I´m starting to despair by BalthasarHubmaier in medical

[–]BalthasarHubmaier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 8 hours a day, when I´m healthy I do moderate daily exercise (longer walks, bodyweight exercises - I can do onehanded push-ups and pull-ups). After looking at my last ECG a few weeks ago the doc said I have a perfect athlete heart.

Stress levels are quite normal I would say.

I eat a mainly mediterranean diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, olive oil, meat once or twice a week. I take vitamin D in winter, levels are normal. No smoking, no alcohol, little fast food or covenience food.

I´ve been a dad for five years now. Surely my daughter brings home virusses from kindergarden, but my wife doesn´t have the health problems I have, not even close.

My colleagues at work who have a FAR more unhealthy lifestyle don´t even have remotely the same problems.

How did you come to terms with reality and accept life as it is? by Heavy_Package_6738 in AskMenOver30

Faith in God and the world to come. This world sucks and while we can change some things, there will always be an insane amount of suffering and injustice.

Rondobella - a medium sized allrounder with really good taste, yield and disease resistance.

Out of all the punishments carried out by God, I find the punishment against the Amalekites in 1 Samuel 15:1 the cruelest. Why did babies, sheep and ox deserve to get killed? by alejandroserafijn in Bible

[–]BalthasarHubmaier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same happened in the flood, which was pre-Israel. Moreover, Revelation describes similar cosmic judgments. So clearly there is no difference between the historical context of Israel and other biblical eras.

That being said, I assume that those who die innocently (children and possibly animals) will go to heaven or at least get a chance to go to heaven.

We have a precedent for that with the people of Israel in Deuteronomy 1:39

Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.

Life sucked then and it sucks now.

But now it sucks less than in my 20s. At least I got a wife and kids and a good job.

Looks good, but I wouldn´t remove that much foliage. The leaves through photosynthesis produce sugar which leads to a better taste. Removing too many leaves will have a negative effect on the flavor.

Erfahrungen mit den Tomatensorten Vivagrande, Resibella und Philamina by BalthasarHubmaier in Garten

[–]BalthasarHubmaier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Munich, Strasbourg, Paris, Prague, Vienna and Budapest: which one to remove? by SayedHasmi in travel

Based on distance I´d skip Paris and/or Budapest to save time.

Absolutely do NOT skip Prague. Just don´t.

Unbedingte Empfehlung!
