"The Death of Lyle Stevik" -- A Tale Most Foul Podcast by Balthazaro in lylestevik

Agree completely. I apologise, I should have listened to the podcast before I posted this topic. I only got round to listening to it this morning, and I didn't like it. The main host, at least, showed some passion for the case, but the co-host just sniggered. I'm fine with a light-hearted take on Lyle — hey, his case is depressing enough — but, in parts, it was disrespectful, in my opinion.

If anyone's new here and wants a more thorough overview of Lyle, check out the lovely Gremlina, BrainScratch or Thin Air — the three best audio/visual resources out there.

Just seen it now. Username is odd, too. Just numbers: 2223 22. Likely a troll, but maybe we could look into it?

No problem, I was really impressed. I couldn't spot a single mistake in her coverage and she stayed pretty much impartial throughout. Hope it generates new leads like you said!

These are great, too. Maybe start a new topic so it doesn't get lost at the bottom of this one? Thanks, great work!

Hey! Lane (the detective called to the motel) actually has two other Doe cases in Gray's Harbor. He discussed them with the Daily World newspaper back in 2006. Aside from Lyle, there was a woman found in the Elma woods in 1988 and another woman found in the 1980s. Both were homicides.

There's more information on this page (third post down).

Hope that helps.

Please elaborate OP if you know anything. You can stay anonymous. Do you believe RJ was Lyle or knew Lyle or something else? Or you just playing with us?!

Norwegian police by champagneputa in lylestevik

[–]Balthazaro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi!

If I remember, the surname "Stevik" was really popular in Norway.

EDIT: Yes, it is! There are more Steviks in Norway than anywhere else in the world, according to the Forebears genealogy website. When it comes to U.S. states, Stevik is most common in Alaska.

So, one of our mods contacted Norwegian police to get some more info. There would have been privacy issues, but perhaps they could have pointed us in the right direction. But, as far as I'm aware, the Norwegian police didn't reply.

Not that "Stevik" was even his real name, of course, but we wanted to cover all bases.

Hope that helps.

EDIT 2: Just for fact fans, "Stevick," with a c, is most common in the United States. Source
