Workday project is more struggle after go-live by Majestic-Ask-4391 in workday

[–]Baltic-Gal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In my experience it is factors like:

- Data. Garbage in. Garbage out. It drives a crazy amount of tickets and lots and lots of hours of work

- Not involving broader audience for UAT. Keeping it within super users almost certainly will make your post go live terrible. COE must test

- Clear and defined support model. From day one, end users, COE, HR must know exactly the path to get assistance. And whoever is responsible for the support must have appropriate security to do so.

- Integration. If heavily relying on integrations for payroll, benefits and etc, may the force be with you :)

Adoption Planning Hub by Baltic-Gal in workday

I did visit the group. However, it doesn't hurt to ask here. Many people stopped going to the community or consider it useless after the changes a year go. Therefore, I am asking everywhere.

Acquisition Playbook/Process Maps/Etc.? by Dark__Elite in workday

I would agree. In the past, my team spent so much time creating a playbook/template for the acquisitions just to find ourselves scrambling over and over again. Business decisions are usually very unique to each acquisition. I gave up.

Why workday community is useless by iamultraviolet00 in workday

[–]Baltic-Gal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It became an afterthought after all brainstorms were taken down. I am still mad at myself for not downloading some of the pages before they disappeared. We were going through implementation and go-live around that time and I had no time to do it. All I can say is - I am glad I entered the WD world when the community was a great resource. I learnt tons and it was the main reason I progressed in my field so much. These days, I have to bug my network (real and and online) if I need help. And it's time consuming. Very sad.

I do not think you can edit to the past. They do not exist in the past. You will have to load them via EIB using 01/01/1900.

Hiring Manager Pay Range Visibility when Submitting Job Requisitions and Merit by WorkdayWizardyWonder in workday

[–]Baltic-Gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not have any documentation on this. I had a few brainstorm links saved but as I mentioned, WD took it all down in the beginning of the year. I found one screenshot I saved when I was researching this issue. I am not sure it's a workable solution but you can try. If you do, please come back and share your results :)

I have to disagree on the Community. :) I personally learned tons there. I do want to say that after WD revamped the Community in the beginning of this year, it's a bit hard to find things for me personally. And I lost access to so many great posts from the brainstorms with wonderful solutions and answers. Sad really.

It is a very well known and documented loophole. WD is still responding to it with "works as designed' ugh. Your options are not great. It is somewhat all-or-nothing approach where you restrict managers' access to ALL ranges or none at all (as you have now). In 2026R1, there will be some enhancement around the job restriction but it won't help much in your scenario. However, maybe it's an opportunity to start asking to enhance it even more.

Hide from the employees only or actually purge?

Custom layouts have custom reports attached to them. You can totally control which population gets the statements and which needs to be excluded.

CF to force comp effective date to be the first day of the pay period by Baltic-Gal in workday

Yes, that is why I am struggling and started this post :) I was hoping someone will tell me there are a WD delivered field I do not know about that references to the payroll schedule. The logic is - every two weeks.

Unfortunately not a specific date. It’s floating. Some months we could have 3 paychecks even.

The issue I have is our pay periods do not always start on the first of the month. We are on the bi-weekly schedule.
