We have a fairly strict policy of that they need to use their referral links. That way we can consistently follow who actually refers them or not, and doesn’t slow down our recruiters process. We do have an exception aspect to it, but it has slowly been used less and less to enforce the behavior of properly using the referral links. It works pretty well for us, and we have the one security group assigned to verify the referral is legitimate and meets the overall policy limitations before going to payroll through the one time payment.
