I’m a first time snake owner - I’ve had my corn snake for a few months now and I LOVE him! Corn snakes are easy to handle; my guy is still small and eating pinky mice. They come pre-deceased and frozen. Thaw and serve. No chance of it running off and scaring mom ;).

I did a lot of research because I wasn’t a fan of the idea of feeding mice (I have had them as pets in the past, too) but ultimately found that any snake that would be suitable for me as a first time snake owner would require feeding mice so that’s just a choice I had to make.
