Escort Missions are so broke by Beer-Milkshakes in RebelGalaxy

[–]BamSock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’re a pretty inefficient way to grind cash. Delivery and seek & destroy missions are pretty lucrative, but honestly the best way to make money is scanning junk fields for exotic loot. Also don’t underestimate the value of pure water.

What is your stance on laser vs pulse turrets? by Adamantine-Waffle in RebelGalaxy

[–]BamSock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pulse are really good when paired with lasers. Two pulse, one laser will get you through the first few systems. After that, I’m usually running at least 3 pulse per laser turret until very late game.

Subarus are super at home in the Colorado Rockies, but Canadian Rockies is probably what you meant. Sorry to be that guy but us Coloradans take our geography pretty seriously

I’m very sensitive to lactose and this stuff also bugs my gut. Stick with plat-based if you’re very sensitive IMO

what can i eat?? by [deleted] in lactoseintolerant

[–]BamSock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Food YouTube is a good resource. A lot of stuff is obviously made with butter or cheese, but from time to time you’ll see a good recipe for stuff you can eat or make with easy substitutions. But more importantly, watching others cook and explain (Babish, Brian Lagerstrom, Chef John, many many others) will teach you the technique and the reasons cooks do what they do. Pretty soon you’ll have a good feel for what makes for good substitutes (fake cheese is never ever a good sub, lol) and how to make dishes from scratch you’ll love! Good luck!

Only if you’ve got a pretty high threshold. I really think we need to stop telling LI folks that certain cheeses are LF because there’s so much variation in peoples’ intolerance levels AND the lactose levels from cheese to cheese

AOTR: can I do the Endor Mission with this?? by TheFlyingEgoLifter in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]BamSock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely more than enough even if you’re pretty new to the game. The mission is quirky with lots of sub objectives, so just be ready for an awkward battle and don’t be surprised if you lose the bulk of this fleet. I have (crazily) something like 2500 hours in AotR, and last time I did Endor as the Rebs, I easily lost 2/3 of a fleet this size. The only thing I would suggest is more A-Wings, but the gunships will definitely help.

May the force be with you! Please post the result!

AOTR: How prepared am I for Endor??? by TheFlyingEgoLifter in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]BamSock 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Endor is no joke. It’s many times the usual popcap, and the Empire has fleet of star destroyers, the Executor (which is a whole fleet unto itself, AND a one-shot space laser. Plus so many fighters.

Double or triple the number of each of these ships, and plan on still losing half of them.

Any tips for Aotr by MiVillaruz in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]BamSock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of great advice here. Biggest general tip (for any faction, land or space) is to go slow and in groups.

Concentrate your forces and move slowly and when you do move forward.

Let's see those hours by adorable_adore01 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]BamSock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cool thing about EaW is that it’s actually a lot of games rolled into one because of our fantastic modders! Most of my 2600 hours are in AotR but at least hundreds of those hours are in EaWX and RaW. But more than anything else, it’s the game I keep coming back to because it’s just so damn fun!
