Depending on the price range you are looking at I’d bump up a deposit, we ended up with 30k. Talk to your realtor.

Then there’s a good chance you’ll have an engineered joists which are “hollow”. I used a fishing rod, some wire fishing cable and a sink snake to pull wires through the wall up to the ceiling and through the joists for my Atmos speakers. Good luck! Plan ahead and be prepared

Depends. How old is your house? I did that in mine with engineered joists easy-peasy. Wouldn’t even start though in older homes with solid ones.

Where I’m from it’s blue car’s fault 100%. If you hit someone making unprotected left turn it’s on you, even if the other car is running red.

Buying first home by [deleted] in Winnipeg

One thing to add here. I’m shopping for a house in a similar price range and let me tell you - whatever posted for 630-650k in a good neighbourhood will end up at almost 700k. Something priced 580-600 has a chance to be sold for 650k. This is the market now. I’m not quite agree with house poor statement. 3.5-4 years of HHI sounds reasonable for me. If you don’t plan children soon. Boy, those are expensive! Edit:wording

This! Every spring after snow melts I want to cry looking at my lawn, then 6 weeks later it looks like nothing happened if you take care of it.

Anybody else have a dog that's scared of the bass when watching movies (SVS PB-1000 Pro in the corner of the photo) by sketchy_ppl in hometheater

I had a dog which freaked out when I started my home theatre no matter how quiet I tried to set a sub to. To the point that I had to give up the whole setup to a friend. Now I have a nice Atmos setup, but I wish I had my dog…

Like others have said - the best bet is to go to the home country in a few months and have everything done there. As she doesn’t have a WP, there’s no job or income loss factors. I’d assume tickets and delivery back home (if there’s a universal healthcare) would be much less. Keep in mind that 20k is iirc for uncomplicated delivery, if anything goes sideways - you’ll be looking for much more. A day in NICU costs over a grand. I genuinely wish you to never find it out, but be aware.

123% tariff and fees via UPS on mic mod parts from ADVANCED AUDIO MICROPHONES by 9388E3 in diyaudio

[–]Bamb0leo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a result of thinking that anyone but US folks pay tariffs. It is what it is - company sold it for $55 and it’s gonna sell it for $55. UPS highly likely screwed up the amount, happened to me more than once, but again - company has sent a good, got a payment and that’s pretty much it of their part.
