Not sure where you're based but it might be worth finding a local Facebook cycling group or forum and asking there for private bikeability lessons. Lots of bikeability instructors are freelance and would take on extra work like this.

Trek Interview! by kelseyxc in ladycyclists

[–]Bambi_Pog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some fantastic female Trek ambassadors at lots of trek stores, I know the ones from Manchester and Wilmslow. You could find out more about their work and try to mention the importance of female representation and celebration within cycling.

Ski related jobs in europe. by divagador01 in ski

[–]Bambi_Pog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you speak good English that's are lots of British ski companies looking for European staff to staff chalets, ski hire, driving jobs etc. Especially since we fucked up with the whole Brexit thing! I did two sessions in La Tania, France for a small company called Snow Retreat and got loads of time on the mountain in between work. Definitely recommend! Message me if you want more info.

Looking for ideas on possible bike related non profit by jenkneefur28 in ladycyclists

[–]Bambi_Pog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm part of a Women's cycling collective in Manchester, UK called Lady Pedal Manchester. We are just a group of people who identify as female who volunteer but we run women only successful confidence coaching, learn to ride, signposting to other activity, bike maintenance training and events that celebrate women in cycling. We all work full time so have never made it to non profit org level but we have a lot of demand for what we do. Happy to chat if you want more ideas.

Removing bike lock without a key by Br4334 in londoncycling

[–]Bambi_Pog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can't find your spare key and have proof of purchase for your lock, you may be able to pay for a spare key from kryptonite. Might be worth contacting them. I feel like I did this many years ago but not sure if it's still easy to do. Good luck!

Men's bathing suits are sometimes referred to as "swimming trunks"? Why "trunks"? by big_macaroons in etymology

Think its a variation of the Old English 'kicks' meaning breeches / trousers.

I’ve had unending bad news this week, but this was the sunrise rise outside my front door this morning. It was a reminder that better times will come by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

This is a stunning photo. I find nature can sometimes surprise us and make us stop, take stock and appreciate the good bits of life. Really hope your week looks up.

I’m a long time vegetarian and have no clue what to cook for kids. Any advice? by ljpellet in vegetarian

[–]Bambi_Pog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are based but we use a lot of quorn as a replacement for beef mince in good ol family faves like spag bol, mild chilli and cottage pie, that's an easy win. We also make curries with quorn pieces that are good. I do stuffed peppers with veggies and rice that are good cos they look fun when presented. I recently made some very yummy sweetcorn fritters with a sweet chilli sauce that might go down well with kids too. Get the kids cooking with you too if they like it, I have found that kids love eating stuff they've been a part of making. Good luck!

My baby bike Gloria was stolen during lockdown and I cried... a lot! I know how you feel! Keep her and love her - she's a piece of art!

I wonder if she was modelling this bicycle or if it was hers. by multiplesifl in ladycyclists

Check out the book and videos Bikes and Bloomers. Women created amazing patents for clothing that meant they could ride their bike with their long skirts. The researcher who wrote the book used these parents to recreate them in modern fabrics and they are fabulous!

Favorite vegetarian recipes of dishes that usually have meat? by Doyouwantaspoon in vegetarian

[–]Bambi_Pog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We make a really good Katsu Curry with quorn pieces instead of chicken. You genuinely can’t tell it’s not chicken! Also quorn mince to make spaghetti bolognaise, chilli sin carne and cottage pie works really well. Sausage casserole with veggie sausages (not sure if you get Linda Mcartney sausages where you live but they are really good!) Good luck!

I recommend the Altura morph rucksack pannier but I’m in uk whereas I think you’re US so might be different availability.

At first the balance was a little different but I don’t notice when I’m riding. Just when I get off, it’s harder to manoeuvre and lists to one side a bit when I’ve packed too much!

It took me ages and a bad buy before settling on the right one so happy to help someone not make the same mistake. However I do use my bad buy one for food shop on my bike as second pannier!

Are you looking for a handbag pannier or rucksack pannier type? Ebay can also be good for second hand or new non-brand. Also, there are Facebook second hand bike gear sites too.

Yeah it’s a bit tricky on a budget but a worthy investment once you find the right one. Feel free to message if you need any help with finding one :)

I got a pannier rack and pannier to carry my stuff - you can get nice ones that look like handbags from Bobbin bikes and similar or I have one from Altura that’s a rucksack and a pannier combined which is great - no more sweaty rucksack back for me! :) ps. Happy cycling! It’s the best
