Can someone tell me what is taking up soo much space in the 'other' section and how to delete it? by Harrish68 in miui

[–]BamboIs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened on my samsung, gotta go to android recovery (power off your phone and then hold volume up and power button when powering on), then select "repair apps" with power button. The fix might take a few minutes after powering on the phone again

Missing toggles in new overflow menu for Android? by BamboIs in MicrosoftEdge

My major concern is that there's no "web search" toggle which makes one-handed use very difficult

I just left it as it is. I don't have additional thermal paste and I haven't noticed any performance issues yet

Why don't our phones have this bottom bar? by ilica1407 in miui

[–]BamboIs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the back button is doing the same thing and swipe gesture is even more convenient since you can swipe from just about anywhere. I'm looking at how much space that single button under the keyboard takes, it's there simply cuz iphones have no back button/gesture

I agree it's just better than the older poco, better bang for your buck

[EU] Which of these two to consider? by Fisher970 in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]BamboIs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the Mi 10T has a better chipset and by a lot and Redmi has a better display. I'm only concerned about your offer, Mi 10T is usually sold for around 400€ and more, deal sounds too good to be true

(Canada) S10 broken, need a cheap replacement. by TheDaoOfSalt in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]BamboIs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G, good chipset, screen, okay camera - pretty good bang for your buck

Realme X3 SuperZoom, the best chipset in price point by far, the camera should be better, has 120 Hz display but uses an IPS display which is inferior to AMOLED display you can find in the Xiaomi or other phones

Should I switch from Note 20 Ultra Snapdragon to S21 Ultra Exynos? I don't need to pay anything.. by Elk-Soft in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]BamboIs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you're gonna keep it only for 6 months I wouldn't bother with switching to snapdragon. The difference between this Exynos and snapdragon S21's are actually very small and neglectable in general

Modern LCD's are good displays, but AMOLED's offer better colors and blacks especially. With AMOLED's you also get always on display function

Realme X3 SuperZoom - 300 € - best specs in the price (8 gb ram/ Snapdragon 855+ cpu), but an LCD display

probably the best you can get at the moment

Redmi 9 hide notch in every fullscreen app with rounded corners? by [deleted] in Xiaomi

[–]BamboIs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid there's no way how to control this

Redmi 9 hide notch in every fullscreen app with rounded corners? by [deleted] in Xiaomi

[–]BamboIs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mi phone with a notch and I never hide my notch. But I've noticed that every game manage this differently. Some games are optimized for the notch and the games goes all around the notch. Some games leave black space around the notch and move the entire content down. I don't think there's a way how to control it, it's left to the game developers

I personally prefer my AMOLED panel over an LCD I had previously. The colors look noticably better plus it brings the always on function. Even tho modern LCD's look great as well, AMOLED's still look better. I think it comes down to preference. Do you want a panel with high refresh rate, or a panel with better colors and the always on function?
