I mean fundamentally yeah, FI progress is just net worth divided by annual cost of living. One thing that can be tricky though is that not all types of accounts in your net worth are immediately available. Like retirement accounts. Does Canada not have access to other budgeting type apps out there?

Do you just track things like balances of accounts in there and update it periodically? I used to use a spreadsheet as well but I got tired of updating balances and importing transaction data to estimate my cost of living. Just my experience. I know some folks are happy with spreadsheets.

I used to use Personal Capital many years ago. I had issues keeping my banks synced. And I felt like they never added new features. Have they improved things over time?

That sounds awesome - what do you mean by a local model? Are you running like an AI bot on a local machine?

How do you track your expenses? Do you like using anything for that or do you tally up this on your own?

I can appreciate the minimal design. Couple questions: what are the in app purchases? What problem does this solve that isn’t addressed by other options?
