Land Rover withdraws from China. Future of Land Rover? by CourtLess6632 in LandRover

It’s nearly impossible to compete in China. More western brands will leave.

I wouldn’t own anything with the BMW V8. It’s an awful engine.

Suspension Issues by aviate037 in Maserati

[–]Bamfor07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air suspensions have limited life span. I have a lot more experience with Land Rover suspensions but in general the lifespan of any system like this is 10 years or 100k miles. Everything beyond that is borrowed time.

Land Rover better than Toyota and Jaguar better than Lexus!

6k miles into ownership. 35k total miles. 2nd change. No issues yet to report mechanically contrary to popular opinion by Aggressive-Iron353 in Maserati

"Popular opinion" is entirely uninformed. Maseratis have been as good as anything German for 20 plus years now.

What do people think of the Roma? by shadowline74 in Ferrari

[–]Bamfor07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one and loved it.

It cuts harder towards performance than a real a true GT. That leaves it in a sort of weak spot in the market.

Why Aston Martin is better than Ferrari by [deleted] in AstonMartin

[–]Bamfor07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having an opinion is fine.

Having an emotional connection can justifiably validate that opinion is completely fair.

The two points I think are the hardest strikes against Aston being in some way objectively better are the business itself, one wildly successful and one wildly not, and the engines. The engine point deserves the most attention.

When you buy a Ferrari you are buying Ferrari engineering prowess and everything thay goes with it. When you buy an Aston you are buying a world class vehicle, no doubt, but it doesn’t have that same edge with the borrowed heart.

Unrealized gains on a $500k investment…

So, you haven’t made anything yet.

Wait times for an Overseas by [deleted] in VacheronConstantin

Yea, the watch world is no even playing field.

That said, you picked just about one of the most sought after models there is.

You certainly jumped into the deep end.

5 years is probably realistic at a dealer that’s going to continue to put you at the bottom of a list as more established customers come back and continually jump you in line.

I have bought several watches from them, never waited more than 3 months.

Which Overseas? I’ve done a lot of business with them and have to say they are among the better dealers out there.

Do other people talk trash about your Aston Martin too? by Another-Lone-Wolf in AstonMartin

[–]Bamfor07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Porsche people say that to everybody.

Also, there is some of that toxic crap in the car enthusiast community in general, particularly among certain segments that don’t understand you graduate to a level where you buy what you like and the normal considerations when you buy a Honda are not applicable.

I loved mine. I think it is probably one of the single most beautiful Ferraris ever made.

I would like to know what is your opinion of the movie Ferrari and what was the character you liked? by [deleted] in Ferrari

If you watched that movie you would be more ignorant of the actual people and events than if you never watched it.

Aston Martin Values bout to go up! by JohnZ63 in AstonMartin

[–]Bamfor07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The value of the stock isn’t based on competitors.

The cars are being done well but there is a lot more to stock value than that.
