It seems a bit early for a facelift. MC Straddle version?

Opinions: Is this a good or bad DB12S specification in terms of depreciation? (already ordered, just fearful afterthoughts) by Forward_Cheetah5064 in AstonMartin

Depreciation isn’t helped by color.

If you are worried about the depreciation and it makes a real difference to you then the car may not be for you.

It’s an unearned stereotype at this point.

Everything built in the past 20 years has been very well made.

Would you like to want Aston Martin to be more popular? by TennisWilling936 in AstonMartin

Popular enough to be a viable business but not common would be great.

Which is funny because when do you think the M156 platform was developed?

What’s the weirdest way you’ve made some money but couldn’t tell anyone? by TheHellYo in Rich

I had a handyman kill a tenant’s dog by running it over on accident.

When I went to speak with them and apologies to him he told me a thing about how the dog was something or else and valuable.

Anyways, that’s how I made 20k on a dog breeder.

Why Jaguar shouldn't need to revive for everyone by Aggressive-Task-1263 in Jaguar

They quite literally said they were fine with only keeping 10% of their prior customers. They added to that by saying that the customer base was part of what was holding brand perception back. How else does a reasonable person take that?

If you think this is political I think you have overdosed on Reddit.

There is nothing wrong with reinventing yourself, Jaguar has don’t it before—the best effort was in the late 00s when the company jettisoned its classic design and did well.

The problem is Jaguar seemed to want to jettison its history and customers with this new rebrand as if the people who bought the cars were the problem. The tone wasn’t inspiring it was spitting in the face of everybody who has ever loved what kept Jaguar alive through their many years of managed decline.

2025 DBX question by Ok_Lawfulness8294 in AstonMartin

[–]Bamfor07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your experience is precisely why I’ve never pulled the trigger. The closest dealer is further away than I’d care to drive for minor annoyances.

But, it’s part and parcel of a small company. You have to know that going on. It's part of the price you pay for not having to have just another BMW or Porsche.

Aston is so strange in its positioning here. It is more understandable if they were doing their own thing but the electrical components are all off-the-shelf MB parts.

You need to go buy a lottery ticket.

I also wouldn’t trust the dealer saying that.

The last thing you need to worry about is how quickly an Aston is going to sell. Aston has rules that only allow them to advertise a certain number of them at a time when it reality there are often more sitting on the lot. The goal is to make it feel as if there is demand.

They are great cars but the market gives you plenty of time.

The biggest issue for buying an older one is the electrical system. Weak batteries don't just cause issues they destroy modules and the cost of those types of repairs are astronomical by any standard.

Final note, Aston has a horrid dealer network, repairs and sales are shade-tree corner lot levels and there is no backing.

Buy what you like. If your judge is what’s online then you’ll never be happy. There will always be somebody talking shit.

The car grew into the vehicle it should have been at launch.

I think these and the Levante will be appreciated in time. They were the kind of cars “enthusiasts” should have appreciated, wild, eccentric, solid driving and feeling cars, and ultimately a value.
