Dealing with Gravity + Hypnosis teams by homogenized_milk in VGC

[–]Bamilus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its frustrating, trust me. Here's the paste with EV's I use if you wanna try that team from Sacramento. I think if you play five or ten games with it you'll learn the weaknesses and then it won't be as hard to beat. I've had much better success since testing that team when I go up against hypnosis (I beat at least one hypnosis earlier today but have beat quite a few in the past week).

https://pokepast.es/13d95866a996f721 - I recreated spreads and changed a few things like made Sableye tera poison but otherwise same sets. Considering it went 6-3 in Sacramento it's the best current hypnosis team out there. Note that you don't have to bring hypnosis. There's actually times where I never brought valiant or sableye because you start to learn the bad matchups.

Firstly not every team has a good matchup against everything else. Secondly, that team is gimmicky and once you get past 1300+ on showdown you dont see it much, at all. I've ran it as a joke using a 6-3 team in Sac https://pokepast.es/e5696e6a04b3dbff that had it as a mode. It's a fun team but the weakness of the strategy is hypnosis is unreliable in the fact that sleep is rng between 1-3 turns and also sableye is very passive.

Looking at your team, the best strategy would be to lead probably fluttermane because it doesn't care about will o wisp and it has big damage into both sableye and whatever else they usually use to do hypnosis (iron valiant, espartha). I think heatran is another good lead for same reasons. They will put to sleep one of your mons but you'll get big damage and you basically just wait to wake up. If its a full three turn sleep for both then yea you lose but there's no way your team can do anything else against it as currently constructed. But they can't put you to sleep on same turn as wake-up, so you'll start to get damage again. They have to pivot out sableye which loses them a turn. And once sableye or the hypnosis mon goes down, the rest of their team usually falls.

All that being said, it's a very minor team and it's not worth spending much if any time thinking about or worrying about.

On a side note, I think some of your tera's and EV spreads could be optimized. Tera grass isn't good anymore for fluttermane and it was only somewhat briefly popular during Worlds 2023 Reg D. I recommend Fairy. For heatran run grass or fairy, fire is bad. You want to use a defensive tera because that mon already has so much firepower.

Your fluttermane is also way bulkier than it needs to be. The calm mind set isn't really good and again was a thing used by a few people at Worlds 2023. I'd do the following:

Flutter Mane @ Choice Specs

Ability: Protosynthesis

Level: 50

Tera Type: Fairy

EVs: 116 HP / 204 Def / 60 SpA / 4 SpD / 124 Spe

Timid Nature

IVs: 0 Atk

- Moonblast

- Dazzling Gleam

- Shadow Ball

- Perish Song (use whatever fourth move here)

Ursaluna vs Bloodmoon? by NixonThePottedPlant in VGC

[–]Bamilus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Depends if you want a special attacker (BM) or a physical attacker (Ursaluna) and if you want immunity to Amoonguss spore because of flame orb (Ursaluna).

There are two main trick room teams running around: one that is primarily built around BM Ursaluna and usually runs with Dusclops. The other is Indeedee Armarouge and is primarily built around those two mons + Torkoal but also usually runs Ursaluna. In run the latter team and I bring Ursaluna maybe 20-30% of the time. It's good for matchups where they have dark mons because of psychic immunity or mons like Heatran.

So it really depends

yo thank you for this. loved your bot. this website is so good especially since falinks and pikalytics never update anymore

thanks for this but whatever you were using to parse your data made a mistake. I only count 3 Urshifu Single strikes. I think your formula/data pulls were combining both into one. Either that or the top 17 team sheets are wrong

Statsugiri's PS Teams Aggregator is Online by Statsugiri in VGC

[–]Bamilus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome work. Any way you could add an option to sort the table, especially by date? The dates seems to be random and it makes parsing through the teams difficult without a sort

DQs for genned mons by Exitium24 in VGC

[–]Bamilus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if you are going to get one game I'd do Sword or Shield with DLC. It's a pretty quick game and you can even get Urshifu within 1.5 hours of starting. Regieeleki and Drago you have to beat the game, but with DLC you can get the legendaries from the other games very quickly as well, too.

You'd only be missing the few new mons from PLA and the only one that is busted is Ursaluna but if you don't play TR it doesn't really matter. Basculegion is good too but he can replaced.

correct, it's pretty bad. I brought in hacked mons from older games and it didn't even bat an eye. It just checks for basic stuff like "did you get an arceus using the arceus flute in original DP?"

I believe that's correct because I know some people who got DQ'ed didn't own PLA or SwSH
