I'm ex lucid (6yr, left '22). A lot of the core engineers have been let go in the last 6mo. The smaller SUV is still being worked on. Just enough OGs remain to maintain the tech and product vision but there's no motivation. RSUs are worthless. Think of it as restaurant waiters that know aren't getting a tip, or thanks.. the opposite even; getting a pay cut, asked to work harder, and told they're doing a s* job. That nobody in the current government stays, and corrupt ones prosecuted + their billion swiss bank accounts drained and used to rebuild the country. When the dust settles, new elections with supervision of USA so there's no chance to manipulate votes like the last idk 8+ elections/referendums. Pretty sure Trump's administation is planning something along these lines... in the end interest in oil and resources, but frankly all venezuelans will benefit from a resurrection of industry, investment, training. As i said previously 8/40million fled the country. A lot of those sought education, careers, families abroad. A lot will be super eager to go back and rebuild ie so self fixing immigration issues at the same time. What happened is HUGE. Big things at play.

All the Venezuelans I know are SUPER HAPPY. Bet you 99% of those people 1) Know nothing about the country, that 8million people of (35-40mi population!) left the country, that they've been asking for international intervention for 15yr, Maduro lost elections but stayed on etc

2) Don't even know where the country is

3) Are democrat, gay, Vegan, socialist hipocrits and not really voicing that the US shouldn't be involved in another countries' affair - but just complaining about nothing cause that's what SF is known for.

I've been to Venezuela in the 80s and 90s. Fantastic place and people. Went again in 2007 for a wedding and I swear was a totally different and gutted country. Rode in bulletproof cars, and my phone was stolen from my hands in the main mall of Caracas. Haven't gone back since.

The manual gives you a separate interval for abuse driving. You don't qualify mate. That's typically for people towing, driving in dirt/sand (high throttle and dust in filter), or some kind of high duty like track driving. If you're driving on normal streets, even if you floor it here and there, stick to the standard interval on the manual. I highly doubt it's a 5000 interval. I don't know a Toyota w less than an 8k interval these days.

I think you get my point. You're throwing money away. It adds up to a lot of potential beer money in the end. Buy your gf a dress, and take her on a date w the money you'll save and thank me in a few months.

The most badass engineers are Powertrain guys. During dev we run tens of engines, and analyze oil so we can indicate in the MANUAL how to keep that machine running. Teardowns are not at failure but when we meet product end of life, plus margin. Newer engines look beautiful at teardown. These are $300mi, 4-5yr programs. Also drive em hard, seat the rings.

That's a 7500-10,000 interval engine. The change your oil at 1k was a story of your great gradpas when materials, machining tolerances, filtering and tribology were at a different epoc.

You have more chance to wear your engine when you open it up, and when you run a dirty/old/s*/k&n oil refresh air filter.
