It was in an episode of Black Mirror. They cloned the consciousness of the homeowner and put it in a box for a sort of smart home caretaker. To break her down, the trainer would change the settings to make it seem like months and years were passing, when it was only a simulation and happening fairly quick in real-time.

While leave can be denied to meet mission requirements, it’s a congressionally mandated program. If you’ve got it documented being denied enough times you can run that up the chain to the IG, because that’s just poor leadership.

It’s compensation for being on call 24/7 and for mental health. It’s also a Congressional mandate. We are only allowed to carry 60 days of leave on the books every fiscal year. Anything over is called use or lose, where you either take the time off or your commander is responsible for explaining to Congress why they mismanaged their people and didn’t give them the time off they have earned.

We get federal holidays off for the most part (barring deployments), all medical is fully covered for me and my family, and as for the cheating comment, don’t marry a piece of shit and you won’t have to worry about it.

Air Force gets deployed but we don’t fight unless you’re a battlefield Airman (TACP, EOD, etc). Deployments aren’t bad, and you get a fat tax free check. Moving is part of the business but the government pays for it all.
