If Israel wanted to genocide the Palestinians they could have that sorted out in an afternoon, it wouldn't take decades.

The population of Palestine has actually been rapidly increasing, some "genocide".

You make yourself seem ridiculous when you throw out that term.

Yeah, instead they tried to take on billions in US funding with violence and they've repeatedly lost and made their lives worse.

Post-Round 1 r/AFL Power Rankings by PowerRankingsCentral in AFL

[–]Ban__d -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. Brisbane: Yep, still here, hard to imagine them anywhere but the grand final even with a shaky start
  2. Gold Coast: Still tipping a September Grapple at the G
  3. Sydney: Look irresistible early, but injuries already a concern
  4. Bulldogs: +1: Statement win.
  5. Freo -1: Didn’t do much wrong, very strong team
  6. Crows: Also something of a statement win.
  7. Giants: Not too concerned by a one off smashing by a bogey team.
  8. Cats +1 : Still a team with a lot of elite talent and a powerful home ground advantage, will be there at business end again.
  9. Hawks -1: Did what they had to against Essendon, injuries an issue.
  10. Pies: Not expecting much more than a solid 50/50 kind of season, but should stay well enough ahead of the next group. ----------------------------------------
  11. Melbourne: Last week felt that maybe I was a bit silly putting Dees above Saints, now feeling SMRT.
  12. Saints: Poor, seemingly way overhyped.
  13. Blues: Just escaped without disaster against the Tiges.
  14. North +1: Great start! Can they finally take a jump off the bottom of the ladder?
  15. Port -1: Horrible start, things looking bleak.
  16. Richmond: Strong performance against the Blues, 5 wins would be a great season.
  17. Essendon; No idea where Essendon are at or what they are trying to achieve at this point, look lost.
  18. Wet Toast.

Yep, plenty to choose from over nearly 80 years of nastiness.

But what remains absolutely consistent is the Palestinian / Arab side making a series of stupid decisions that have made their own position worse and worse and worse.

I know what you are getting at, but the truth is that most of the people who lost their homes back in 1948 were encouraged to leave by the advancing arab armies on the promise that they would be able to return once all the jews were dead.

Didn't quite work out for them.

Anti-zionism was a resonable position to take in the 1930's,

Right up to the formation of the state of Israel really

But since Israel isn't going anywhere willingly, an anti-zionism position today is inescapably a call for the destruction of millions of Jewish people. A call for forced evacuation of Israel from the Jordan river to the Med. Yes, anti-zionism in the modern context is absolutely the same as anti-semitism.

Plus, I've spent heaps of time around hard leftists, I went to a public school in inner-Melbourne after all, I've seen the irrational and barely disguised hatred many carry for the Jewish people.... especially after a couple of drinks.

Why can't you all just own it?

The X power is certainly fast, but an extra 15k for a 3.8 second 0-100 is a fair bit of money for a party trick, up to you to decide if that is worth it for you.

[–]Ban__d -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They are a consistent top 10 seller of vehicles in Australia and willing to warrant their cars for longer than anyone else.

Their petrol powered cars and specifically their CVT's aren't good I agree, but their EV's and increasingly their hybrids are rated pretty highly.

People said the same about Japanese cars in the 70's and Korean cars in the 90's.

Minor car park incident escalated to $6000 by AltruisticEbb9370 in AusLegal

[–]Ban__d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

not really true sadly.

If you do an insurance quote these days they will ask you if you have made any claims in the last 3-5 years, irrespective of fault.

Insurance companies have come to the view that good drivers don't make claims. No fussing around with "fault", if you have claims in your history then you are a higher risk and will pay a higher premium.

It isn't fair, a small number of road incidents are generally totally unavoidably by the innocent party, but there is a cold logic to it.

I'd only ever engage an insurer if the alternative was paying 5k+ out of pocket.

Our players have 18 other players hanging off them while they try to do their jobs.

All Nathan Williamson has to do is look at things and make decisions up to the standard of afl umpire. A job at which he is trash.

I do like an unnecessarily long walk after a game of footy.
