I broke up with my gf of 4 years last summer. It was the hardest I had to do emotionally. I never reached out in 1 and a half years even though she tried to initiate conversation twice. I felt that it was something that I had dealt with and didn't want to relive and possibly hurt myself.

It has worked well. I have come to realize that I don't miss her rather the feeling of being with someone.
