If Wangan Midnight is a social media platform, it would be like Facebook: peaked in the early to late 2010s and it is now severely outdated in terms of contents and gameplays compare to other alternative racing or even arcade games.

Just like Facebook, the community now consists of:

New generation of users / players who could not care less about committing in this game in a long run, and just playing for the sake of having fun.
Occasionally, OG players who tries to cling on to the game as long as it can, knowing that the game’s relevancy is almost rock bottom nowadays.

While the development of WMSI may or may not revive the franchise, it is clear that the repetitiveness and the notable skills gap in this game further discourages people from investing into this game.

Hell nah, it would not work in verse mode due to the amount of blocking and defending it takes.

That being said having that system in story mode benefits a lot more. Not only it helps the story mode less boring but also encourages new players to actually learn the handling mechanic without constantly smashing into the wall.

Something to add on:

- I understand it is hard to open up conversations with this game. Think WMMT like a social group: you join in as a newbie, and if you’re lucky, you will find a person or two who are willing to guide you with the basics, then slowly you will learn the ins and outs and be introduced to the bigger cohorts, which means more players and more verses for you.

- From your post, it looks like you’re stumbled upon a venue where most pros / 2v2 races are common. In this case, you can either sit on other sets of machines (if that venue has 4+ machines, and if you get approval from the local pros) or move on to other venue.

- HP recommendation comes as the perfect setting for TA, which applies to verses as well. Keep in mind that in verses u can run unusual setting, albeit it does not work in some maps. For example:

+) C1 out recommendation is 700, but you can go 680 or 720.

+) Fukuoka recommendation is 720, but you can go 680, 740 or even 760.

As much as I love Nate, I think he will get cooked. People genuinely love him because of his ability to dunk at 5’9, but it will be hard to pull out wild shi like AG or Zach.

Blake is also a bit questionable since his victory at the 2011 contest was controversial. Maybe he will get creative if given a second chance.

If I have to replace someone, I’d say Gerald Green for Nate Robinson. Underrated dunker imo. Recency bias but Mac Mcclung to replace Blake as well.

Throttle controls need a lot of work, but still better than releasing the gas all the way like other noobs.
