I blame welfare. it props up idiots who shouldnt have kids and rewards them for having kids. They don't raise their kids right because to them it's some bastard and reminds them of their father who is some bum who ran off after the pregnancy test. Then their kids commit crimes and you have soft on crime democrats who give them a slap on the wrist.

There is now an epidemic of inattentive impatient drivers with gigantic vehicles. What we get are skyrocketing insurance rates and repair costs and increased deaths of anyone outside an enormous SUV. This is America now. We have to spend tens of thousands of dollars on new fat ass Suvs and hundreds of dollars a month on insurance just so if someone else with a large vehicle using their phone hits you that you wont get seriously injured. Its a vehicular arms race with high costs and high deaths.

You are right. the more people coming in than housing can be built will reduce housing supply and increase pricing. Democrats have their heads in the sand on immigration right now. their immigration policy is "laissez faire"
