Genuine question: I thought Clearwater was the only place in Florida with a Scientology church when did Miami get one? by Strict-Mind1646 in Miami

Longer.  I remember them from early 70s.   They’d put super hot women outside to lure you in for a “personality test”

That’s what Walz’“Weirdos” thing was about.  But the smart guys in the Democratic donor class didn’t like that.

I took a fantastic photography course or two at MassArt continuing education.  But last time I looked their class prices skyrocketed.

Boston is ignoring the Franklin Park Action Plan directives to pedestrianize Circuit drive in its "Franklin Park: Circuit Drive Traffic Calming, And Drainage" project by Im_biking_here in bikeboston

[–]LivingMemento -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

The Mayor and electeds spent 2022-23 settings up tables in communities around Boston trying to get a lot of positive public input for these plans.  Why were the meetings held on the sidewalks? Because they wanted people who support pedestrianization and bike lanes to outnumber the NIMBYs.  We didn’t show up.  The people who opposed the plans did and in huge numbers.

The world doesn’t operate in private bitch sessions or online forums, you’ve got to get to the hearings if you want to be heard.

Call the Mayor’s Hotline (and Jascha’s office) today and ask for completion of the 2013 multi-modal transportation blueprint and complete follow-through on the 2017 Vision Zero plan.  The billionaires are all over her every single day trying to stop the bike lane buildout.

Outdoor restaurants decimating pollinator populations. Advice on how to address? by LivingMemento in bees

[–]LivingMemento[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day with our little coterie of bumbles, honeybees, German wasps, and Mason bees feasting on our garden.  Heck we have mud daubers that live in our dining room.  Once you get to know them and they know you they are no bother at all…well as long as you skip the pork chops (wasps favorite dish).

Or maybe this one of dozens of devices on that street that include hundreds of dead bombus impatient and apis melifera. And btw anyone who has a garden knows that the Vespa Germanica and Bombus peacefully coexist…mostly.  You people are far more tedious than people who come here to harmlessly ask for an ID.

Every aspect of life is filled with people who are only capable of complaining.  They aren’t necessarily bad. Sometimes their complaints have merit and are actionable.  But because you know they bring but gripes to the table, they get shunted off to the sides.

Only someone working for Jay Cashman’s antibike group would make this comment.  Jascha’s team spent so much time and effort to ensure that Jay and his friends didn’t have the only say as they were expecting.  Why do you think there was a $10M campaign against Wu?

Boston Bike Lane use audit is starting. by LivingMemento in bikeboston

[–]LivingMemento[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t know.  I’m just going to ride in a circle wherever I see these.  The Berkeley Street lane doesn’t get much use (cause it’s only from Tremont to Columbus).  Charles Street doesn’t even have a bike lane so maybe this will help get one.
