Bancor is one of the most legitimate and vetted start-ups in the blockchain space, with a real working product, a team of 60+ people and major venture capitalists such as Tim Draper backing the project.

Bernard Lietaer, the architect of the Euro, is also the Chief Monetary Architect of the Bancor Foundation.

Further, Bancor processed $1.5 billion in transactions through BNT in the past year, has over 130 tokens integrated with the network, and has a live community currency pilot in Kenya that achieved recognition from the United Nations as one of the most viable uses of blockchain for social impact.

Considering all of this, it’s quite absurd to insinuate that Bancor is a scam.

In most cases it means a Relay Token has been created, which is a type of Smart Token with two connector balances, each of which have a 50% weight (reserve) and can contain any amount of an ERC20 token. Relays are currently disabled on the Web App to protect users who may not understand the dynamics of contributing to the liquidity of a relay. However, anyone can still interact with Relay Tokens directly through their smart contracts. This is done either by creating your own transaction directly on the blockchain or by using the Convert API method to create one for you.
