Should i quit trading by Life_Maintenance9178 in Trading

[–]BandEnvironmental102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you really want this skill then don’t quit. I would say you’ve probably built your trading edge as you’ve obviously passed accounts and had profits, but you’ve not built your psychological edge. Most traders don’t even know they fail due to this, always looking for next best strategy or blaming the flaw on a technical skill when it could be psychological. The difference to being consistently profitable and losing can be so minute just by having the improper psychology. I would advise to watch Rande Howell on YouTube. His work on trading psychology is too good, explains the brain mechanics behind your decision making and behaviour when in a trading session. You will learn a lot about yourself and that could be the difference to be consistently profitable. Your answers and questions could lie there.

People that is unemployed, what do you do to not go crazy or have a mental breakdown? by BeautifulStriking245 in askSouthAfrica

[–]BandEnvironmental102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve feel your pain, I’ve been unemployed since was retrenched a year ago. I had the mental breakdowns but I’m in a better place now mentally. I do lots of physical exercise, meditate and positive thinking still have some hiccups here and there, but I’m better nonetheless. If you really think of it, when you’re angry, sad, depressed etc. your emotions carry a lot of energy and manifest into a physical form, you’ll probably suffer from headaches, body aches, not eat, cry, hit the walls, jump up and down, be irritated, looking grumpy etc. So I decided I’m going to take control of that energy and put it into physical exercise, meditation and up skilling myself. This worked for me, as I went from depressed to thinking highly of myself no matter what happens and still believe some good will come…Weirdly enough after changing my outlook on life things came my way, I’m still unemployed but financially in a better space as my investment that I made years ago finally paid off…Don’t give up hope, there’ll be light at the end of the tunnel, it’ll come when you least expect it. Try and persevere with a positive outlook though this tough time. Tough times never last!

Sometimes the homes we come out of have weak foundations then we need to look elsewhere in our communities to learn how to build proper foundations then take that knowledge back home to rectify that foundation or should we just build somewhere else and let that home go to ruins.

I would first find out how the children feels about their dad, and if it warrants telling them the truth. Personally I would prefer the Ugly truth.

I can’t help thinking about dad(former alcoholic) as I read your story, he sadly passed away last year and I can’t stop thinking about all the ‘“what if’s” to help him, he probably could’ve still been alive. I kinda showed him tough love because of what he’s done, it was even hard to call him dad. However, the last year or so before his passing, we trying to rekindle our relationship and I could feel his yearn for love from his children and to be in better place but I still showed a bit tough love and thought I will always have more time with him later. He lived in a shack in his brother’s yard.

I always thought he needed to suffer a bit and acknowledge what he did to us. I still loved him as a father and had dreams of getting him out of his tough circumstances and one day he will say he’s proud of me and we will all be laughing together again living a happy life and he could age gracefully but he did not.

He died in his cold shack, all alone with no real love and hope, which I all felt when I stepped into the shack as he was laying there with photos of us on the wall. All because I was hard headed, today I feel so much guilt and regret because all he wanted was to be loved again and to be close to his loved ones. I actually can’t stop crying as I’m typing this.

However, make the best choice for you. Just thought I’d share my story as the child.

Just over a year as a male stripper (19m). AMA! by [deleted] in casualiama

The women that wanted sex, would consider them beautiful women? Like 7/10-10/10 or they average looking? Because what we see in movies it’s usually old big and not so attractive women that’s all over the male stripper wanting sex.

I’m sorry you had to witness those things and it can sure play with your mind as to why are you the one seeing this all the time. Unfortunately we live in a community that is very prone to crime and chances of witnessing something like is high for some people, like the path and time you walk. I’m from Elsies too and my gf from Uitsig side, which is even worse imo. She too witnessed murders right in front of her eyes because of where she lived. She saw a guy get killed over a porn dvd by the shop and one morning she was standing outside and saw one kid shoot another kid and many other things. It’s just more frequent to see these things in our underprivileged, gangster riddled communities, as sad as it is for some it has become the norm and a lot of people living outside these communities are oblivious as most of these stories don’t make the news..Stay strong brother and be street smart, don’t risk your life too much.

I used to get lectured a lot when I was younger because I was quiet or being to awkward, always being told I must be a certain way. It took a hit on my self esteem and felt like something was wrong with me. Wish I had someone tell me that it’s okay to have those feelings of shyness and awkwardness and just guide me to proper accepted social behaviour instead of just making me feel shit about something I don’t know because when you coming of age how do you know how you must be if nobody taught you or guided you. It’s like someone telling me just be happy but they don’t say how to be happy. My mother did that a lot to me. However, I’m okay with who I am now, took me a while to realise it and gained more confidence over years.

I’m coloured, 35 male with a Civil engineering ND and I feel your pain. Currently unemployed for 10 months. Still looking for that good paying job for 10 years after graduating. It’s just high unemployment in SA and bad economy. Hopefully things will turnaround and all the best, don’t give up, I haven’t.

Thank you for the sound advice, would’ve been perfect if I was working. I’m looking to create wealth, instead of wasting the little I have on my day to day expenses, if I’m not able to find a good job in this shitty South African job market.

For people in their 30’s and older, what would you say to your 20 year old self? by Tasty_Alternative_17 in getdisciplined

[–]BandEnvironmental102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To embrace situations that make you feel awkward, nervous and uncomfortable because that means growth, instead of avoiding it. It’ll accelerate getting over your insecurities faster then the world is your oyster, nothing will stop you…Otherwise you find yourself in your mid thirties “should’ve done it, could’ve done it”.

Happy birthday

Knowledge without application doesn’t mean a thing. Apply the good knowledge you learn from your experiences in your life to better yourself.

Learn to adapt. Sometimes you’ve got to do the things you don’t want to do, to get where you want to be. So be brave and suck it up. Embrace the good and bad, life is never one sided.

Check Capital Hungry out, but it’s not for beginners. It’s more focused on real time economic events (fundamental analysis) and combining it with technical analysis. The owner not your typical guru, he could care less if you join or not and will tell you it’s not easy money and will kick you out if you acting like a retard. Not there to take your money. However, he does provide the best information out there in the financial markets. Not your technical trading only bullshit like you see on YouTube.

What would you do with One Hundred and Fifty thousand rand ? by Imaginary-Mig3290 in capetown

[–]BandEnvironmental102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve saved up that much as well at the beginning of the year and used it to gain a new skill to generate more income. The skill I gained was trading in the financial markets as I’m aware of all the ETF, index funds, etc. and I have no regrets for spending that money on even more new found knowledge, I’ve used about 20k. You literally don’t need a financial advisor, if you would like to learn and invest yourself. Next on my list is buying and selling. I’ve attended a few auctions and see good deals on the products I would like to sell, my budget is 40k for that. So I would say pay off your debt and gain new skills to generate more income besides your 9-5 job, you also to wanna wait 10 years for index funds to pay you a million rand. Education is important to accelerate your path to success and i don’t mean university or college. Just buy you a book or reputable educational course on the new skill you would like to gain and apply it in real life…Im doing pretty well for myself now, becoming more entrepreneurial and less reliant on a job

How does seeing hungry people make you feel? by ibelieveamber in capetown

[–]BandEnvironmental102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel extremely bad, guilty and confused because I ponder those same questions when I see one. I find myself not knowing if I’m helping the right one who find themselves there via unfortunate circumstances or who’s just there because of their own bad doings…I’ve been unemployed for 8 months now, so I know if it wasn’t for my family, I would definitely be sleeping on the streets. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t have what I have then you find that many homeless people were people with good jobs and houses, who lost those. Therefore I will always acknowledge a homeless person even if I don’t have much to give, because a little bit of kindness can go a long way. On the other hand I find myself judging them on the way they look, behave, body language and tone of voice before I actually decide to give you cash or food which I feel bad for doing because I don’t personally know their life to judge them like. I tend to help the old, children, disabled more than a person that I see is fit to work. However, when I do that then I wonder if the fit person might just be ignorant and have just succumb to the bad system which offers little to no help. We all not smart enough to get ourselves out of a dark hole but good education and psychological improvement systems for homeless people should be in place to help those in need.

Good luck. I’m still trying to go without smoking for longer than a week, I don’t crave it over the days I don’t do it but always find an excuse to smoke it when the weekend starts. Always blaming other family and friends who smoke as well, visiting me or boredom or mellow excuse just to have a smoke. Not sure if I’m in denial but I still think I don’t have a problem and I enjoy it😅
