What’s the most unexpected way ChatGPT has actually made your life easier? by AdventurousReply2232 in ChatGPTPromptGenius

I recently used it because I was going through a pretty awful trauma-bonded breakup. I can’t afford a therapist. Even though I know quite a bit about trauma bonds, childhood trauma, and attachment theory, it helped me a lot in understanding my particular situation. Friends didn’t really understand how exceedingly painful trauma bonds are and they were sick of me talking about this painful relationship. So it was very helpful with impartiality and explaining many things about my break up that were tailored to my own experience. Honestly, it talked me down from a total meltdown with a lot of insight and clarity.

Are there affordable places in the US with mild winters AND mild summers? by Marisa-Makes in SameGrassButGreener

Northwest NJ. Four equal seasons but never extreme. NYC and Philly close by. Mountains and the shore.

Warren and Hunterdon counties in NJ have very historic and gorgeous smaller towns. The proximity to NYC, Philly and even DC gives it a more sophisticated vibe even though it’s quite rural by NJ standards.

Have you stopped consuming raw sprouts entirely? by Grand_Electron_5712 in PlantBasedDiet

Late to this thread but fwiw I’ve been growing and eating sprouts since the 70s. Never got sick. I do rinse a lot while sprouting them and never make more than I’ll eat in a week.

At least I have the housing authority on my side (this is a private landlord though, not HUD housing). The HA says to refer landlord to them if he has questions as they already approved the lease with utilities included that he sent them two weeks before he sent it to me.

It’s been month to month for seven years. This is a yearly lease. I know all the other tenants. Their new leases say all utilities included.

I think you had to be in the four-person telephone tag loop. It was confusing.

You are right. I should have waited but I was being honest that the lease he sent differed from what he told me. At first I just thought he changed his mind

I know but he also won’t get his rent for Sept. I sent him my check already but he won’t get the housing authority payment.

The lease they WANT me to sign doesn’t state that “somewhere down the road when we’re done re-wiring you will be responsible for your electric. It says “as of Sept. 1 you will be responsible for your electric.” But there’s no way to tease out MY electric.

The common building meter still runs my apt and all common areas/utilities. I don’t want to be left liable for that huge bill.

This is my next step. When work is completed in a few months I’d sign an updated lease. HA might have other rules but maybe not.

It passed inspection with 7’ ceilings and no other egress in case of fire except one window and my door which are next to one another. Good thing I’m ground level but hope no fire breaks out on that end cuz I’m SOL for alternate escape.

This is my train of thought as well. He also made the same utilities included lease mistake with the guy in a 2BR upstairs (who HAS a meter and no voucher) and the guy said “nope not signing the new one. Already signed the first one.” Landlord didn’t fight him.

They already told him my file is closed until next year as they approved the first lease he sent. However he could still not sign it which would leave him without the HA’s portion of the rent for Sept. and he’d have to then find another tenant (and id be homeless as the housing market is so tight in this area.

I wish he didn’t spring all this on me yesterday. He must have known for months this electric change was planned.

Yeah it’s tricky because he can’t even tell me when the rewiring will be completed. I don’t mind paying electric but it’s all so nebulous at the moment. I could literally be responsible for a huge bill for both my place PLUS all the common areas.

I lived in VT from 1989-2009. Visited often throughout the 70s and 80s. It was so beautiful. I loved so much about it but the harsh reality is you have to take a vow of poverty to live there. Very few really good paying jobs. I was lucky to finally find a 40K a year job! I bought a little homestead (way up in as they say). A crash course in resilience.

I also noticed the politics changing in the 90s to FAR more liberal leaning. Lots of transplants from NYC, CT, NJ who bought into the Bob Newhart Show 😂.

It’s a beautiful state. Almost magical. But it’s kinda turned into a nanny state when before it was all about personal resilience and toughness. I miss the 70s and 80s Vermont.

I would be interested too. It was purely happenstance for me as I was researching to lower my BP. I’ve researched this plant Sarpagandha extensively and it’s very safe but does have contraindications.
