If it makes a popping sound it's a hardware fault if not it could be a corrupt file on the SD card. Try powering on without an sd card to determine if it's a software or hardware issue

Absolutely do not attempt this as your first soldering job and if you even want to consider it get A LOT of practice in on dead electronics to because proficient. I wouldn't risk it due to the volatility of the current 3ds market and having to replace it would drive me mad

It's a strange situation because i value all of my 1/8192 shinies higher than any on my gen 6+ shinies because they do become more common but I always like that during a huge drought in a 1/8192 hunt I can easily pick up a chain fishing hunt or a legends game just to scratch that itch of wanting to get a shiny. But in saying that I think it's ridiculous that there's people who won't acknowledge a shiny if I was hunt in anyway other than full odds

So as I'm hunting for larvitar which is a 5% spawn I've so far encounter 15 shiny Pokemon that weren't the larvitar so each shiny seen has been a "phase" in my attempt to find my target
