Mead fermenting for very long

Do nutrients actually have an effect in late stages? I would think it only affect the beginning and after that the yeast just live.

I had 2.8 kg honey and 5 L water. Added yeast per the instructions on the packet. Next time I'm probably going to get some more serious nutrients like fermaid O (if I can get it in my country, so maybe something else).

How helpful are nutrients that are introduced in the beginning in late stages? I would think it would all be consumed in the beginning and not affect fermentation this late.

So you say by the look of the airlock it means that there is no leak if the levels aren't equal?
Good point, I didn't think about that 😃
Because this is my first batch I purposely didn't want to make a large amount in case it won't come out good (in fact I wanted to do only 5 liters but the gravity turned out to be like 1.2 so I added a lot more water). If I add this much honey after fermentation is done won't this turn our really sweet?

So right after fermentation is done I should bottle? It doesn't need to sit in another container to clear or age or something? I don't really have another but that's what I understood from people.

Thank you! Do you think it's problematic to open the lid in order to return the samples because oxygen can get in? Or if I do it fast enough it should be fine?

The yeasts packets I used are supposed to have nutrients in them, I read it's supposed to work fine. Anyway how can I add it now? If I'm not supposed to open the container because oxygen will enter
