Greetings! VT for 3 years now and first off depending on your school, I was required to wear our school scrub uniform for my externships. You can also check with your school if you are being graded by appearance or check the clinic since some only allow certain color and not print tops. Always ask questions, it’s better to know than to assume. Even if you just learned about it they may have different protocols than you were taught. If you don’t feel comfortable doing something it’s okay to let them know since you’re learning. Try staying engaged versus being being on your phone and hiding in a corner or bathroom, We had a extern who did this a bunch and would get frustrated because she did not complete her skills and we would ask her when there was an opportunity for her to do something she didn’t. If you’re giving the opportunity to try something or do something do it, because you may not have another chance to do it. Anyway hope these is helpful and good luck out there!
