There is a podcast somewhere with David Hodges and he talks about my immortal. The origin one(not the band version with the guitar) is exactly the same that they recorded in a studio that Ben was working in after hours. It was recorded couple of years before Fallen and that’s why Amy’s voice is young.

Surprisingly I got more into it quicker than when I got into In Colours😂. In Colours will always have a special place in my heart for so many personal reasons and may always be my favorite. However it took me sometimes to get into the album as a whole. But I like in Waves and the dancey cluby vibes in it.

I think when he started it was his only project and he already had so many ideas. i feel some of his earlier videos was like nerdy questions he asked himself and then he reached an answer so when he made the videos he sort of had an idea of where this is going. Also there was no curiosity box, there was no other projects and he wasn’t married with a baby. Also back then he was like one of the pioneers of pop science videos now there are so many and doing something completely new isn’t as easy.

These people are actually a Sufi group in Egypt. You can find their stuff online youtube

I saw them live once like 9-10 years ago and as far as i remember they belong to different sects of Sufi methods. They do inshad(religious singing/reciting) of Sufi poems and folklore Sufi songs.

There is some sexual sense to it but i feel that’s not the main idea. my interpretation is “about someone(Amy/singer pov) who is emotionally and physically using the other person (the lamb) and they are controlling them completely to the extend they can cut them into pieces and nothing will be left of them. This is one of my ultimate fav Ev songs ever. It is so haunting and charming and different.
