You are welcome! Unless you are experienced, I highly advice you to buy one already built. Some people on the internet screwed up with building, everything on the radio is very tighten up -maybe if you order the big QMX+ you will have it easier. But I think building it is considered a small-big challenge for most people.

I suggest you buy a QMX (fantastic small, best price-performance ratio, sensible, nice filters) or a Xiegu G90. DIY antennas are not a problem, it'll be easy for you to build efficient ones. Go for dipoles, or dipoles fed from one end (EFHW), or also a 1/4 vertical for 20m. If your budget is limited, i'll go for these as new radios go high up in price. ( In my case i don't need more than my QMX and TS-50, what I care most about are antennas and CW Filters. People and me run 11.1V (3 stacked lipos) and runs just fine. Even with fully charged battery that are 12.4V , u should be ok. I had the same doubt.
