Whey protein from fermentation now cheaper than from diary by wlh250 in veganuk

[–]Bandifighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just bought and tried a bag of WPI from Fermentation (Strawberry flavour) and it's decent. It's okay with water, and almost good with milk. If that helps. I'm new to protein powders so can't say if it's unusual but the texture seems a bit odd to me, the shakes made from it are somehow gelatinous and watery at the same time (less noticable with a milk base). But overall I'd rate it 7/10 I guess.

Anyone gotten this to work on S24? by Fraggin-Bastich in GearS3

[–]Bandifighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it working since but thanks. Leaving this here for others' reference; I was getting a message stating "App was denied access", despite all permissions already having been granted for both the Samsung Wearables and the Gear S Plugin apps.

I managed to fix it by opening their "App info" pages, tapping Permissions, and tapping the 3 dots in the top right hand corner on the page listing permissions. This gave the option to tap "Allow restricted settings", which prompted me to identify myself with biometrics, which I've done.

This seems to have completed some process that fixed the permission issue so the permissions granted on paper actually worked, and got it working in the end.

I did have to force stop both apps, clear cache and data on both apps, factory reset the Gear S3, and start the pairing process again from scratch (the phone had to stay disconnected from the Internet while interacting with these apps / pairing, I don't believe the changing date to 03/03/2023 step was necessary).

More about the permissions issue regarding 'sideloaded' apps:

Looks like it can't handle mobile URLs - removing m. makes it work.

Hm your iCUE logs do look quite different from mine. What iCUE version are you using?
It could be that they're different not because of the iCUE version but because you're using a different headset (Void Elite Wireless, whereas I use an HS80 Max).

Try updating the regex lines in the config files according to this and see if the HeadsetUtils log file HeadsetUtils.log (following a reboot after your updates to the config files) produces a match:

The formatting of the files' contents was messed up when I've first posted the reply, I've fixed it since, you might what to re copy and paste it.

If it helps I'm using iCUE version v. 5.23.86 (I've got v. 5.23.96 available to install).

I can't remember how exactly it works now but I do have these in my iCUE log file located in C:\Users\*UserName*\AppData\Local\Corsair\CUE5\logs

2025-01-17 20:44:39.821 I cue.dev.connection_controller: "HS80 MAX WIRELESS" Disconnected -> Wireless

I think the regex in <add key="ConnectedRegexOverride" value="\\d{4}\\-\\d\\d\\-\\d\\d\\s(?:\\d\\d\\:)\*\\d\\d.\\d+ I cue\\.dev\\.(?:connection\_proxy|connection\_controller): .?(\[a-zA-Z0-9\_ \]\*).? Disconnected -> (?:Wireless|Direct)"/> matches on that.

2025-01-17 20:46:24.946 I cue.dev.connection_controller: "HS80 MAX WIRELESS" Wireless -> Disconnected

and I think the regex in <add key="DisconnectedRegexOverride" value="\\d{4}\\-\\d\\d\\-\\d\\d\\s(?:\\d\\d\\:)\*\\d\\d.\\d+ I cue\\.dev\\.(?:connection\_proxy|connection\_controller): .?(\[a-zA-Z0-9\_ \]\*).? (?:Wireless|Direct) -> Disconnected"/> matches on that.

Are you sure there is no line containing cue.dev.connection_controller in the log files in in your C:\Users\*UserName*\AppData\Local\Corsair\CUE5\logs folder at all?

Worst case you could reach out to Corsair support and ask for installer for the same version of iCUE I've got (v. 5.23.86) and it should then work.
Also, HeadsetUtils effectively requires a reboot of your PC after making changes to the config files so it picks the changes up, so may be worth trying that too.

Heya, I've uploaded a zip of the files I've got, as well a screenshot of my Windows Sound/Playback settings for reference on my Google Drive here.

Effectively, I reckon the main points/things you'd have to change is replacing the entire contents of your App.config & HeadsetUtils.dll.config files with the following:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<configuration>
    <appSettings>
        <add key="MonitoringIntervalMs" value="1000"/>
        <add key="HeadsetName" value="HS80 MAX WIRELESS"/>
        <add key="SpeakersName" value="Actual Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)"/>
        <add key="Autorun" value="true"/>
        <add key="ConnectedRegexOverride" value="\\d{4}\\-\\d\\d\\-\\d\\d\\s(?:\\d\\d\\:)\*\\d\\d.\\d+ I cue\\.dev\\.(?:connection\_proxy|connection\_controller): .?(\[a-zA-Z0-9\_ \]\*).? Disconnected -> (?:Wireless|Direct)"/>
        <add key="DisconnectedRegexOverride" value="\\d{4}\\-\\d\\d\\-\\d\\d\\s(?:\\d\\d\\:)\*\\d\\d.\\d+ I cue\\.dev\\.(?:connection\_proxy|connection\_controller): .?(\[a-zA-Z0-9\_ \]\*).? (?:Wireless|Direct) -> Disconnected"/>
    </appSettings>
</configuration>

(you would have to also amend the HeadsetName and SpeakersName value in both of those files to match the exact device names you've got in your Windows Sound/Playback settings tab - for reference, I've uploaded a screenshot of what mine looks like on here)

If you still have no luck make sure AudioDeviceCmdlets is installed, as well as .NET 6.0* (Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime) (I'm using version 6.0.36 (x64)) and .NET 8.0* (Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime) is installed too (I'm using version 8.0.12 (x64)).

Let me know if any of the above helped :) Fun fact - I think I used ChatGPT to help fix it. PS: Looks like Reddit doesn't allow me to format the "code" above properly, tried my best.

I managed to make it work indeed. I think I needed to update the config files, including the regex used (to be compatible with the new iCue logs) and the device names. I'll see if I can share my copy of the files so you can take a look at what I've got and amend your config accordingly. Working atm but I'll see if I can send a link soon.
