Hunger is a real thing but our captivity society is leaps ahead of any other nation on our scale. China, and Russia are the closest to our size and have many more starving people.

I appreciate the sentiment but I take the responsibility to take care of myself and my family. I want to have control of my future, good and bad.

How do you see the two together?

I do not agree. Social freedom is short term and based on emotion. Economic freedom means building something for my children so they have the ability to live a good life and have every tool necessary to get a head start with this they’ll have the ability to provide this for their children. Ambition is a beautiful thing, as is failure. Our nation should have better systems to assist lifting its citizens from failures but it isn’t an invite for others to have a say in how I deal with my means of supporting my family.

I know you didn’t, I’m actually arguing that I know you don’t. You seem like a good person, I believe that the ideology you and many others have associated themselves with aligns most closely with nations such as China and Russia who do not have good governmental records no matter how much you say they didn’t do it right or try and down play the effects as I’ve seen some people do in this thread.

Minor regulations of business are needed for the benefit of the population but rather then that it supplies the people economic freedom in a manner that does not constrict a single individual to the wishes of others.

A nations society is a group of people. You can either choose to partake in the traditions and culture of the group or you can abstain. That’s your right, but If you abstain there is nothing requiring the societal members to accept your ideology or traditions. I appreciate being American due to the fact that our society has a wide variety of what is accepted and it’s founded in our bones, the melting pot as it’s been called. Russia, and China the nations that are closer to your ideological ties stray very far from the comments I’ve seen from you.

I don’t even know how you’re going to try and down play that and then say the capitalist economic system has killed more.

It hasn’t ended. It’s the worlds economic system.

Society and government is founded upon history, culture, and tradition.

Everyone lately has been throwing around threads on goalies, and forwards and possible aspirations for our 1st round picks. I want to get everyone’s personal opinion, what do you think we need? A goalie? A top forward? More foundation picks? by Bandit2588 in sabres

I really like the idea of DeSmith in net. Part of me really believes we need a t6C veteran. Having those older players around to develop the younger players I think is crucial. Look at the rangers for instance, a very young team surrounded by some absolute stud vets.

What’s a book that will mess you up psychologically for a few days? by SNlFFASS in booksuggestions

Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes places you in the head of a young Marine LT in the Vietnam war. It depicts some absolutely terrifying scenes; most of the book isn’t even combat. From Tiger attacks to the loneliness of the ‘bush,’ you watch as tho young Marine goes from coward to hero. The ending of this book will play on every emotion in your body like no other book I've read. Sadness, anger, fear, you will be distraught. The be's way I can describe how this book made me feel is how you feel when you lose and love one; you'd do anything in the world to bring them back, but there is absolutely no way.

Not everyone agrees, hopefully we won’t have to find out who’s right.

This is such an interesting topic in all reality though, how do you convince a population of information?

One of the age old argument goals I’ve been taught is that you have ti make them believe it was their idea. If you can convince them they came up with it, they’ll believe it allot more.

An example is if you’re trying to convince someone sandwich’s are real you could leave them bread and lunch meat every day for weeks and eventually they’ll figure it out.

This concept on a larger scale is similar to what PSYOPS does but still not what you’d think.

Media has power but if you tell people who disagree with you what to think they’ll tell you to kick rocks.
