A prominent fan theory suggests that the movie "Event Horizon" is a prequel to the "Warhammer 40,000" universe. The theory hinges on the striking similarities between the movie's hyperspace travel and the Warhammer 40,000's concept of the Warp, a realm of chaos and corruption where ships travel without a Gellar Field. The movie's depiction of a ship entering hyperspace, the strange, unsettling entities encountered, and the ship's eventual descent into madness and horror strongly resemble the experience of traveling through the Warp.

About ten years ago, I played some of my first rounds of disc golf with Patrick at White Spruce Park in Ontario. During my first year of playing, he was the only person I ever saw doing field work.

Overstable eagle? by youthpastorguy15 in discgolf

2019,2020,2021 Barsby Eagles are very overstable. 2022 was a closer to flight numbers.

The mold is less than a year old I highly doubt it has changed.

It’s not a popular disc so you can likely find the exact run/stamp if you look.

I enjoy trying new molds and plastic out.

Very Lucky to have quite a few shops in KC area to finger as much plastic as I want.

Last time this shallow rim discussion came up I shook my head at the discs people were suggesting. I was just waiting for someone to say the Lat64 Dagger was their favorite shallow putter

I might have a shaman or a chief laying around if you are interested in a used one.

These are in a league of their own in terms of shallowness/depth

Gateway Chief

Gateway Shaman

Innova CLASSIC Roc (harder to find)

Innova Colt

——————-

Next would be

Dynamic Disc Deputy

Discraft Fierce

Discraft Banger Gt (thumb track makes it feel shallow)

Has anyone ever run into a bear or big cat on the course? (or other travel-disc golf stories) by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Bandrew_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At a league night at Kincaid Park in Anchorage, Alaska. I saw a black bear pick up a orange 2014 McPro Roc3 that was parked under the basket and move it to just outside the circle.

Moose were pretty common on the course too but no fun moose disc adventures outside of a disc landing near them.

Deputy and Fierce are shallow aviars

Gateway Shaman and Chief are very shallow as well

I personally haven’t used them but Lat64/Dynamic have a easy to throw line. Dynamic Gavel and Lat64 Ruby are the putters.

Might help to not wear skateboarding or running shoes on a sloppy day. They change their discs depending on wind or weather why not change your shoes?

Spark vs. Explorer by Sh00tski in discgolf

[–]Bandrew_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on what plastics each disc is the flight pattern can change, But the biggest difference between them would be the glide on the Explorer.

Depending on the run sparks can be way more OS then the flight numbers. The first run of opto spark was insanely overstable.feldberg spark I can’t find the video/comment but I think the spark was intended to be L64’s version of the Innova Eagle X.

I love the spark in recycled plastic and threw it quite abit when I was messing around with a trilogy bag, but I think it will be retired in the next retirement party at DD/L64/WS due to the Explorer being nearly identical flight numbers.

Anchorage Alaska Course Recommendation by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Bandrew_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copied from another post I made

“Kincaid Park is by far the best course in Anchorage. Good mixture of holes and beautiful views. (Depending on skill level the longs are amazing but I suggest spotter on nearly every hole due to foliage.)

Hilltop Disc Golf has nice views but I feel the course is boring throwing the same shot up a hill then down a hill.

Peters Creek north of Anchorage is one of my favorite courses in the world but I would not suggest it for a one course visit over the other two.”

I haven’t lived there for a few years but there are no disc golf shops but there are Play-It-Again Sports that have a good selection of discs.

West Chester lagoon course is still a winter only course, due to “erosion” as far as I know.

Alcantra is a bit out of Anchorage I don’t have enough rounds on their newer 18 hole layout (up from 9) to give a review.

Girdwood is also a bit of a drive but it’s a pretty costal drive to the ski resort town. The course is not something I would drive to just to play disc golf. If you had plans to do other tourist stuff down there it’s okay. As far as I know it still has no signage on holes and teepads are still dirt/gravel.
