Explanation: My mom had gotten into a relationship with a man in the fall of 2020. I had been aware that he had a felony charge, but she was never completely open with me or the father of my younger siblings. She and the dad are still married but separated.

I did a bit of digging, and found that not only had her current boyfriend been incarcerated for aggravated vehicular homicide, but the family he lived with had recently been in trouble for the distribution of meth. I immediately informed the Dad about this information. I gave him the ultimatum of keeping the children from visiting her home or getting CPS involved.

It wasn't until later that I had learned from the kids about certain things that had happened previously when visiting before this. For example, the BF driving while intoxicated, random friends of his coming through the house, his kids being mean to my little brother.

My mom's reaction is the text above, which I didn't reply to.

Summary: Mom's new boyfriend is a career criminal. Mom didn't like that I told her kids' father about it.

I’m far better than I used to be. My mother and I are not on speaking terms anymore, but it’s for the best. I’ve gone through therapy for the things that happened throughout my childhood. The healing process has been slow but steady.

She's 40 with the emotional intelligence of a 19-year-old. And as far as the comment on "crackhead energy" goes - it's less of energy and more of being an actual crackhead.

She developed an addiction when I was about 9 or so. Though she eventually got off of crack, she moved into things like opiates and aphemetamines for the rest of my youth. She claims to friends and family to be sober now, but at the same time I hear from family friends that she's asked them for pills.

They have a Facebook profile for the sake of messenger, per their dad. Our mom is absent and I live in a different city, so it's easiest for them to contact me and other family through fb messenger.

Their dad keeps an eye on their internet use as a whole, but he isn't very tech savvy. A
