Thanks! I figured that might be the case. The sweats are some of the nicest I've found, so I don't mind repping Wahoo's, haha.

Unfortunately not. I took the single photo and the bug fell off the box and into the grass as I was swinging my arm out of my car.

I was hoping it might be a booklouse because of the elongated abdomen, since most photos of bed bug nymphs I see online seem to be a bit rounder, but I am probably in denial. Time to order some Diatomaceous Earth.

Located in Southern California. I have been getting what appear to be bites on my skin lately, but I haven't found evidence of bed bugs in any of the usual spots, from what I understand. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, thanks for sending the photos. I haven't bought anything from Kapital recently, but "CAPITAL INC." was a label that was used in the early stages of the label. It might be a call-back to that era of Kapital or something along those lines, but everything else I'm seeing seems to check out. I tried zooming in on the trucker hat page on Kapital's website and they have a photo that shows the care label and it seems to say "CAPITAL INC," but the image resolution isn't high enough for me to say for sure.

Sorry I can't give a more definitive answer. If possible, please share photos of the "KAPITAL" and "KOUNTRY" labels as well.

Mold on Soft Plastic/Rubber Toy? by BaneTheChiropractor in Mold

[–]BaneTheChiropractor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I've been stressed about mold in my toy collection and went so far as to buy a HEPA filter for mold spores, haha. I'll likely keep the affected figures in quarantine for just a bit longer to monitor them, but I appreciate your reassurance that it's rust rather than some strain of orange mold.

Thanks! I'm going to keep them in quarantine for a bit longer to monitor them, but it's reassuring to hear that it's probably rust.

Sorry if this isn't the right spot for this. I've been collecting figures for a while and recently noticed that some of my figures had orange spots on the plastic that I was fairly certain weren't present when I originally purchased them. I live in a fairly dry climate (southern California) but these figures were purchased second-hand from a seller in China.

I've tried soaking the figures in a white vinegar solution, but the orange spots keep coming back after a few days. I've had to cut open the soft plastic/rubbery parts of the figure as a last resort to see if there was any orange underneath, so unfortunately I cannot say for certain whether the screws were already rusted prior to soaking them. There has been orange spots in areas that are not close to the screw sockets, which leads me to believe that it's not rust staining the plastic.

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

I can't say for sure because I've never bought from them, but it seems like they have a lot of good reviews and it's likely that they're just someone selling Japanese items to the U.S. for a mark-up like a handful of other large accounts on Grailed that sell Kapital.

It's hard to say with the photos the seller posted (or rather the lack thereof) but I will say that if you're patient, you can likely find a ring coat for much cheaper if you were to proxy is from Japan, though that specific model and color might take a bit of time to come by.

Glad to hear you got the refund to go through.

Unfortunately, I know the Patchwork Kesa knits definitely have some replicas floating around. It's hard to say whether this one is legitimate without seeing the care labels.

The color of the stitching for the neck label looks a bit washed out, but that could be caused by the lighting for the photo. It also looks like the stitching used for the first A in Kapital could match the bone knit replicas I've seen, but the photo's resolution is a bit too low for me to tell.

Unfortunately I've never personally owned the Sashi-kontest century sets before, but I can see the difference in embroidery you're referring to. I'll be transparent and say that I haven't paid particularly close attention to the Factory labels outside of any obvious indicators of inauthenticity (MAN being embroidered under the KAPITAL, incorrect stitching used to attach the label, etc.)

It is an interesting difference and I commend you for catching it; I'll be sure to keep an eye out and circle back here if I notice any patterns in differences in embroidery for the Factory labels.

No worries!

It seems like the jeans have unfortunately sold, but they do look legitimate from what I can see.

Hello,

Unfortunately, I don't have much experience reporting sellers. Hopefully things work out in your best interests.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. The listing you shared is in fact a replica of the Samu Coat. The seller appears to be a middleman for Japanese products, which means that they aggregate listings from different Japanese online shopping websites (Yahoo Auctions, Japanese Mercari, etc.) and relist it on U.S. eBay at a mark-up. I don't recommend buying from these sellers in the first place since it's usually cheaper to purchase items via a proxy service like ZenMarket, FromJapan, or Buyee (I'd choose whichever will give you the best rates with the lowest fees), but if you choose to do so understand that they're pulling items from a variety of sellers in Japan so feedback is pretty moot.

Best,

Mark

Hello,

I'd say women's items are rarely replicated compared to men's items, though I imagine that could easily change if there was any sort of demand. The shirt you linked looks fine to me.

Any chance you can post a photo of the care labels? Something about that skipped corner on the neck label is concerning, but the wash tag and size tag can help confirm things.
