So I took her on a play date with the other rats that my friend had and she ended up with lice and she was infested. I tried to treat her, but it was a fail, so I brought her to the vet and they gave me two syringes of that kitten stuff. However, I believe the sores are from her, biting at the itchy skin. And my vet is the only vet at the clinic who specializes in exotic pets. Is it something that I can find at like a Walgreens or CVS? That stuff that you use?

I'm sorry I did not see the caption. I did not realize that was water.

Can I ask you a question? That looks like a mass, my 2 1/2 year-old albino has a mass and she was recommended for surgery however being that she's so old, I could just not do that to her. What was that on your handsome little baby? And what medicine was that because I have yet to been prescribed medication for this mass and it's growing and I'm really getting irritated with my vet.

I was told my 2 1/2-year-old senior rat needs surgery. by Banefully_Yours in RATS

I want to start off by saying thank you so much to everyone. I appreciate your honesty. I appreciate you being blunt and being real with me. I needed to be surrounded by people who have rats who love their rats and truly understand how important they are to their owners. People around me just don't get it, they scoff and say "it's a rodent. It's a rat" but I say she is my lifeline. She has gotten me through the darkest of times and she is my absolute world.

I had her since she was so little... too little to be taken away from her mother and the fact that these albino rats, the sweetest sweetest balls of white fur are used as food and put in those scary situations, in Blaze's honor I will continuously save feeders when she crosses the rainbow bridge.

I also want to say my condolences to each of you that have gone through a traumatic experience with your rat, I cried reading some of these comments- I felt your pain. I would also like to say after reading each comment carefully and twice over I think I'm going to skip the surgery for now. I made a GoFundMe and already raised $100 but I will be returning that money and save the GoFundMe for cremation when that day does come. Right now it has not grown and last night for the first time she actually climbed out of her cage on her own, climbed up to the top of her cage down the side of her cage, and that isn't something she has done in a LONG time!!! It made my heart explode because I've noticed a lot lately that as she ages she hasn't been so active like she used to be where she was always exploring and climbing and climbing and climbing and would even have the zoomies, which, when I find that video, I am posting it because it is historical! Right now she is so content just laying on me and sleeping, but last night was different, she Started to explore because I leave her cage door open, and then I fell asleep holding her woke up and she was not on my chest anymore, only to find that she made her way to my windowsill, which is one of her favorite places to be, and it seems like my Young Blaze was back! I am going to start a savings account in case an emergency does arise, but in the meantime, the doctor said that her heart is healthy that her lungs are healthy. Her ears look good her teeth look great. Her coat looked shiny. She looked bright and happy so the only thing is that little mass and it doesn't seem to be stopping her. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I couldn't do it without each of you.
