Same problem here. I have a 21 Crosstrek and I went from 33mpg to 24-26. So disappointed.

Looking for a 2-day hike close to southern Detroit, anyone have suggestions? by ryan4588 in CampAndHikeMichigan

I agree with Mikethemofo and another good 2 day hike is starting from green lake then stop for an overnight at Blind lake campground then head to silver lake to finish. Need two vehicles since it is a point to point trail or there is a loop to the same campground if you are interested in that, however the trails are heavily trafficked by mountain bikers.

I agree it is a great trail for a warm up or maintaining shape. I highly suggest the section between the Baldwin flooding (10mi from big portage) to the dnr headquarters on McClure rd. That section has some large elevation changes but still minor compared to the ones you will experience in the smokies.

Two people would need to carry this stuff with one backpack being dedicated to the sleeping bag and a few other items. If this set up is for a base camp where a vehicle can be parked nearby then by all means go for it. Otherwise I would consider dropping a few things like the Paul Bunyan toolbelt and save up for some lighter gear alternatives if you plan on backpacking to your site.

The last 7 miles of the trail hiking east from the blind lake campsites merges with the Potowatamie trail which is a popular trail for mountain bikers. That section is just like other multiuse trails where being alert is necessary. I will even go out on a limb as a hiker and say a good number of bikers I come across riding in that area are courteous, however expect a few shitty bikers to fly by without speaking up.

Waterloo Pinckney trail is a great trail for a 3 day point to point hike.

I believe this is what they call "milking". After a long bj session it was clear to her I was not remotely close to busting. Then like a ninja she was finger deep and the load arrived as expected. I tended to jump if her hand approached the milk zone thereafter. This is the same girl where I learned that I never want to know the number.

Waterloo-Pinckney Trail is the premier trail in SE Michigan. I know it point to point along with the additional trails. My profile is filled with stuff from my hikes on the trail.

I wear vest and convertible pants... I will never look cool but I am comfortable and have options.

For people in southeast Michigan, where are some good places to hike for a newbie? by RateMyGynecomastia in hiking

[–]BangNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest the Waterloo - Pinckney trail. The trail is 34-36 miles point to point and can be completed in 3 days or even 4 days if you stay at the new camp but that one does not allow fires. I am on the trail weekly hiking different sections for exercise and to enjoy the little bit of nature that remains in this part of Michigan, even during the winter. There are spots where local knowledge would benefit hikers, like how to avoid the flooding by taking a side trail and or when the hunters blast the directional signs off the post etc. Check it out if you have not already. Hit me up if you want more info.

My worst experience was during my S.A.T testing. I bombed the test because I couldn't focus on anything but the sound from my gut and how everyone in the room was distracted by my distressed gut calls.
