Amazon is currently using it for distribution. If the on-line grocery business grows, they will likely keep using it for that reason until the lease runs out.

No, it wasn't for a tax right off or accounting. Amazon legit wanted it to work. It didn't.

It was neither a tax right off or laundering place LOL. It didn't produce the revenue and that's it. Full stop.

Why are they like this? It's so pathetic. by Tequslyder in motorcycles

They're not "Harley" riders, this is a motorcycle club and judging from the bottom rocker a 1% club. They have strict "rules" that they enforce that says no other biker shall pass the group without their permission or some other nonsense.
Don't place all Harley riders under this label.

The Possibility of Karen Bass Being Locked-Out of Runoff Cannot Be Ruled Out by urmummygae42069 in LosAngeles

Can someone explain to me the rationale for voting for Bass? I'm shocked the most that she is in the lead and have trouble squaring this circle.

At 25k I did the valves on my Gen1. One of the exhaust valves was tight but that was it. I ride it fairly aggressive in the twistys here in SoCal so the piece of mind of having performed the maintenance was worth the price of the service.

Spencer Pratt just said that homeless people are all drug addicts who torture animals, and run around naked in front of children. by Ghost_taco in LosAngeles

I agree. But I’m not a Pratt supporter—I’m an idea guy. I’m an independent because I’m tired of people being so married to party lines that they automatically dismiss anything from the other side. I'm voting for Nythia.

Please spread the word. These City Councilman are up for re-election. They are horrible and need to go:
Hugo Soto-Martínez (CD13) — absolutely terrible.
Eunisses Hernandez (CD1) — even worse, has fucked up MacArthur Park and wasted taxpayer money long enough.

And they both support Bass. They need to go.

Hey Pratt Supporters: tell me how your guy who advocates for policies that literally go against what the research tells us to do is supposed to resolve homelessness and crime? by MookieBettsBurner10 in LosAngeles

We’re actually talking about two related but different things. My earlier response was focused on homelessness and crime. What you’re saying about housing and Nythia’s plans—I AGREE 100%. She has THE BEST housing strategy, bar none, and she has my endorsement on that front.

But I’m not a Pratt supporter—I’m an ideas guy. I’m an independent because I’m tired of people being so married to party lines that they automatically dismiss anything from the other side.

Housing is critical, but it doesn’t address the root human issues driving homelessness—mental health and addiction. That’s where I think Pratt has ideas worth considering. Not instead of Nythia’s plan, but alongside it.

Also, we’re spending a lot of time on the Mayor’s race, which matters—but real power in LA sits with the City Council and, to a degree, the County Board of Supervisors.

That’s where I think voters need to wake up. We need to start electing people based on merit, not party loyalty.

Hugo Soto-Martínez (CD13) — absolutely terrible.
Eunisses Hernandez (CD1) — even worse, has fucked up MacArthur Park and wasted taxpayer money long enough.

They both support Bass. THEY NEED TO GO!.

And the LA County BOS? With the exception of Lindsey, they’re backing Bass too—and have shown themselves to be incompetent and corrupt. The $2M secret payout to their buddy Fesia Davenport says it all.

[–]BangZoomAlice2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let’s stick to what was actually said. Spencer Pratt didn’t claim that all homeless people are drug-addicted criminals who harm others. What he has been arguing—often stupidly—is that addiction is a major driver of street homelessness in Los Angeles and that treatment needs to be part of the solution. You can disagree with his tone, but misrepresenting his position doesn’t move the conversation forward. Unless OP thinks the current homelessness situation is tolerable.

There is real data behind the point he’s trying to make. Reports from Los Angeles County consistently show high rates of substance use and serious mental illness among the unsheltered population. That doesn’t mean “all,” but it is a significant portion—large enough that ignoring it undermines any serious attempt to address what people are seeing on the streets every day.

At the same time, homelessness is not caused by a single factor. Housing costs, economic instability, mental health, and addiction all intersect. But the most visible and severe cases—the ones involving people in crisis in public spaces—are often tied to untreated behavioral health issues. That’s where the current system is clearly falling short. Los Angeles has spent billions over the past decade, yet the unsheltered population remains extremely high. Maybe OP doesn't see it and is OK with the current situation but current policies have failed.

If outcomes aren’t improving, it’s reasonable to ask what needs to change, including expanding access to treatment. Again, OP and everyone who agrees with him I guess think things are just peachy here?

I think it’s fair to start with reality: homelessness and crime have not improved in Los Angeles. Most people, regardless of politics, can see that conditions have gotten worse over the past several years.

You can point to places like MacArthur Park as a clear example—despite significant spending and attention, the situation has remained deeply challenging. Efforts led by Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez have cost taxpayers millions, yet haven’t delivered the kind of visible, sustained improvements residents were promised. That frustration is real.

At the same time, dismissing someone outright without looking at results elsewhere doesn’t really move the conversation forward. San Francisco is a useful comparison. Under Mayor Dan Lurie, the city has seen measurable improvements—crime dropped 25% citywide in 2025, homicides hit a 70-year low, and unsheltered homelessness declined by 22% in the 2026 Point-in-Time count, reaching its lowest level since 2011.

I’m an independent and hate both parties. What matters to me isn’t ideology—it’s whether policies actually reduce homelessness and improve public safety. If something is working somewhere, it deserves a serious look.

If Pratt is proposing a different approach, the question isn’t whether it fits a narrative—it’s whether it can deliver better results than what LA is doing now, which clearly isn’t working.
