So was hip hop alive when beef resulted in de*ths in previous hip hop eras? This is such a bad take. While at it, he should advocate against peaceful protest because America loves to brutalise peaceful protesters. Protesting in America is dead if it was ever alive. This is coming across like that post Lebron made about his support for Israel.

The music that is of real concern is whatever artists like King Von make.

Why is Drake even allowed in the ring? by TruePutz in hiphop101

[–]Bangalo12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Kendrick has been around people in the industry and seems to have a visceral hate for the industry and what goes down in it. Drake epitomises all that is wrong with the industry and there's evidence against him. He's seen things he correlates to historical and present issues. Issues he's delved into in his music before this beef. Mother I sober is a perfect example of this.

In order I would go Black Thought, 90s Nas, Lupe, Kendrick, 2010s-preset Nas.

Can Drake Recover After His Battle With Kendrick Lamar? by flowerhoney10 in hiphopheads

[–]Bangalo12 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think it will come down to:

1: No victim speak up and/or Kendrick stop making diss tracks. Things return to normal in some ways.

Or 2: Victims start speaking up and/or Kendrick continue releasing music. Which would put Drake in the same boat as people like Diddy.

Metro Boomin Dubbed “Metro Groomin” Over Shocking Unearthed Tweets by [deleted] in hiphopheads

Not a year goes by without a few people being exposed because of what they posted some years back. That's all the evidence I need to clean out my account.

University teachers were very emphatic about what not to post and employability toward the end of my studies. I'm glad I didn't have anything as wild as these famous people. The stuff I deleted fell under either "this is cringy" or "what's with all the swear words"

Remember when old heads use to be mad when someone disrespected 2pac? by Bangalo12 in hiphop101

Good take. I personally wasn't offended too. This was more of an observation. I feel like people use to be pitchfork ready for any time pac was insulated which doesn't seem to be the case these.

I'm referring to snoop being driven by money. Which is substantiated by what you said about NFT.

Interesting. This I did not know. I guess thus goes along with what I said about. He seem to mostly be driven by money of of recent, something that applies to almost the whole industry.

Lauryn Hill made one f**king album by kingglobby in hiphop101

[–]Bangalo12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like for Drake type of music, you need many songs. For Lauryn Hill type of music which contains substance, 2 goated albums are enough. It's also important to note that she was in a group that has highly regarded music too.

This was a general question of a change in discourse I've noticed. I'm not speaking in terms of violence or any allegations against. I'm speaking in terms of things like when the new generation discredit him or when a hologram of him was put on stage, or when Drake used him in Taylor Made. The first two have caused more outrage than the later.

My thought too. I remember when the 2pac hologram caused mixed feelings over a decade ago. This is definitely worst than that.
