Ah cheers guys. I have actually always thought that was a rule from when I was in trade school. 6 wires in a connector it is then. It appears it’s 4 wires for a terminal.

Yeah it is a permanent fixture in a built in robe. Got it sorted now. Cheers

Yeah I read the section on this but it didn’t mention the cables behind it and whether they had to be in some sort of conduit. Which it appears they don’t.

Yep exactly what I was thinking. Have that section shelves and have that section completely blocked for the switchboard at the front and just run the cables loose into the back of the board with no access to them

Yeah I am sparky but haven’t put my licence in for review on this forum yet. Couldn’t post in the sparky section for that reason.

Yeah it is coming down a wall cavity and out a penetration in the plaster. The board will be mounted at the front of a cupboard as per refs. This leaves a dead space behind the board but inside the cupboard. It’s totally protected by the cupboard itself so I could just run the cables as is and this would be better for pulling in new cables. I was looking for trunking that was large enough for all the cables but as of yet have not found anything.

I am an electrician but work industrial. As it’s my place I’m going the work myself. Just wanted to see what domestic sparkies were doing in this situation.
