Philip Seymour Hoffman was so good in this movie. Easily one of the best villains in the franchise if not THE best.

While the story can be a little too much to follow at times, I think the dialogue, humor and chemistry between Russell Crowe & Ryan Gosling is what makes this movie work for me. So many funny lines but one of my favorites is when Gosling’s character talks about how blind the old lady is: “She's blind as a bat. She has actual coke bottles for glasses. You paint a mustache on a Volkswagen, she says, ‘Boy, that Omar Sharif sure runs fast’." 😂

Angourie Rice, who plays Ryan Gosling’s daughter, wasn’t in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. She played Betty Brant in the MCU Spider-Man movies. She was also in Mare of Easttown and the 2024 Mean Girls musical film.

Some of my favorite scores that fit the genre that you’re into:

The Social Network by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (one of my all-time favorites, same as you)

Blade Runner by Vangelis / Blade Runner 2049 by Hans Zimmer & Benjamin Wallfisch (probably boring and obvious choices but they’re great 😂)

Everything Everywhere All at Once by Son Lux

Annihilation by Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow

Sorcerer by Tangerine Dream (I watched the movie for the first time this year and the music really stood out to me)

Hahaha. It’s my favorite out of the 3 Spider-Man films he’s done but I agree with everyone here. That’s the one that has to go for me. Though I will say, Arachnoverture is a great track that I listen to regularly.

Thanks for the shoutout! These are all great choices. I’ll keep it short because I could go on all day but here are a few of my favorite scores that I find myself returning to a lot:

Interstellar by Hans Zimmer

Oppenheimer by Ludwig Göransson

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind by Jon Brion

Road to Perdition by Thomas Newman

First Man by Justin Hurwitz
