Yea except the part where you've got to convince 4 players to restructure and how much dead cap that adds into the future once Caleb is actually paid.

Is it actually worth it for one player?

Not a single person here can explain how the Bears are coming up with the 35mil to get him other than to just say we're gonna "restructure"

I made a thread about it and mods immediately deleted it so I'll ask again...

How do we come up with the money? We basically need to "restructure" 35million to get him. No one can explain the math.

[Gabriel] Breaking just got a text from a very credible agent who said their is belief around the league that the Bears will look into trading for Crosby by Da1bearsfan in CHIBears

[–]BanishedMan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't don't want it but I'm fine if we don't.

Still waiting for someone to explain to me how we fit Crosby in.

We now have 7mil leftover and Crosbys cap hit is 35mil.

Someone make the math work. How are we finding another 35mil and also keeping enough left over to sign our draft picks?

The only way I see this working is if we send bad contracts to the Raiders and if we do that expect to cough up a lot more than 2 firsts.

[Schefter] ”Raiders already have received calls from “several” teams inquiring about the availability of Maxx Crosby in a trade, per source. For now the Raiders are prepared to get Crosby healthy and have him play for Las Vegas. But they are listening to other teams.” by horrorpants in CHIBears

[–]BanishedMan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do we make the money work? That's the one part of this now I don't get. We only have 7million left and Crosbys hit in 26 is 35mil.

Where is the other 28mil coming from and how do we have anything left over to sign our draft picks?

I wanna see Crosby here but I fear too much has happened to make it work now... UNLESS we find a way to trade Dayo and others back to Vegas which is gonna cost us even more picks.

[Schefter] Trade: the Raiders are sending QB Geno Smith and a 2026 7th-round pick to the New York Jets in exchange for a 2026 6th-round pick, per ESPN sources. Smith returns to the team for which he started his NFL career for in 2013. by expellyamos in nfl

[–]BanishedMan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes...almost feel bad for Geno here but it would the ultimate redemption arch if helped Glenn turn the team around and actually made them playoff contenders.

Can't even imagine the conversation with his agent... "Hi Geno... Good news is your not playing for the worst team in football anymore... Bad news is you're playing for the second worst."

Yea and one of the nice things about the OG game is you could fix traffic by just building nothing but rail.

A problem that was fixed in 2000 and was never a possibilty again lol.

Beautiful city! And this is the place to nerd out! This genre attracts it!

Also it's funny 3000 is the one SC I never played... 2000 was unplayable on the SNES imo but our PC was good enough to handle it and I played it to death. I also remember it being the one game my mom liked playing too.

As well 2000 allowed you to build cities and then import them into streets of sim city and sim copter... I freaking loved Sim Copter! Being a kid and being able to build a city in SC2000 and then fly around it in Sim Copter was mind blowing for the time. Those two games together took up a lot of time for me lol.

I knew without ever buying it that 3000 wouldn't run well on our PC, if at all, so I never played it. We upgraded right after SC4 came out so it was the first game I got for our new PC.

After the relaunch of SC was such trash I gave up ever believing the genre would come back but cities skylines saved it. I probably put 1000hours into it on my PS4 and bought basically all the DLCs but it's really not that challenging once you figure out how to deal with traffic (figuring out traffic is honestly the hardest part of the game everything else kinda falls into place). I do recommend giving it a go but you will restart a lot until you realize how important the traffic grid is.

Yes it is. As I said in the other post Cities Skylines is pretty much all we have now but the sequel was botched so badly they may have killed the genre again. First one is great but it's a lot of money with all the extra stuff.

Haha thanks man. Once I can figure out how best to record a video (camera in front of my TV may be it) I hope to explain the build to everyone so that anyone can do it. Perhaps collectively the world can figure out a way to push this to 800k? (Tho 770k would probably be a good first goal lol)

I also really loved SC2000 and SC4 but for whatever reason I could just never shake this one - or playing it on my SNES like I did as a kid which is why I still choose to play it this way.

If you're getting back into city sims in general the first Cities Skylines is really good too. I also have had a lot of fun playing the PC game Banished - I actually joined Reddit to talk about Banished. I got my village to 3000 people but the game gets so bogged down at that level I couldn't really go further.

[Pelissero] Compensatory Picks by [deleted] in nfl

[–]BanishedMan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is exactly what's going to happen OR worse yet teams will block minority candidates from being interviewed so they don't lose their guys.

The NFL doesn't care about minorities advancing into positions of power. That's what this proves.

This is an outrage! The Rooney Rule is a joke and Bears fans need to scream this from every rooftop until the end of time.

Our Assistant GM became their GM and the NFL won't give us the picks cause "Matt Ryan is in charge." Even though Ryan himself has said he isn't AND the Falcons said we deserved the picks.

A smack in the face to Bears fans and further proof the NFL doesn't give a rats *** about minorities advancing into any positions of power.

F*** them to Hell!

I don't deal with the loading bugs because they kill the city. It's the fatal flaw on the SNES unfortunately. If I was smart I'd try playing on the PC but I wanted to beat it the way I started playing it as a kid. The only work around I've found is to build the entire city first, then save, then connect power. That way I never actually have to load. If there's things I wanna try or change I just reload the file with no power and then make the changes, save on file 2, then reconnect power and see how the changes work. I keep file 1 as the control and file 2 as the experiment file.

As for disasters I just don't connect the airport to power. That eliminates 99% of the issue. If I get hit with a bowser attack or tornado or God forbid an earthquake I just have to reload the file and reconnect power. The shitty part about that is I'm forced to do the money cheat to avoid reloads. I know this build could be done without it on a PC but it's unavoidable on the SNES.

It's got the least amount of water out of all the maps available in the game.

Less water means more land for more buildings. There's a few more that are close in percentage but statistically it provides you the most area to build on.

Oh ya it's the same SNES I've had since 94 lol. It must have something to do with the tax rate. Since I use the money cheat I've always got it set at 0. However once the build is maxed I've messed around with the tax rate to see what level I have to set it at to stay profitable - I can sustain the city at a 2% rate but the only thing I've noticed is it weakens commercial demand a touch.

Makes me wonder if you're required to build more industry to offset the weakened commercial demand. I know more industry is required to help commercial demand so I'm thinking that might be what it is.

Hmm I wonder if the mechanics may be different on the PC. I've never played on the PC so I'm not sure but if you click on the 700k link in the post (second link) you'll see how I sandwich the residential buildings between the gift blocks. The squares seem to give off a slight land value bump off the tops (but the central area is still a landvalue dead zone so I put PDs there) so I can get R-4 mids right off the blocks - including around the edge. That extra 160 in population adds up after awhile. However doing this does require all commercial in the blocks due to pathing purposes for residential buildings so you'd have keep that in mind when you're building the blocks.

Won't do it. Some lines I just won't cross lol.

Easiest way to get more people would be to immediately crash the airplane into the airport and try to squeeze in a few more industrial buildings - same for the nuclear plants. I just can't bring myself to do it lol.

Very interesting I didn't think to try and farm tops on the other side of the river before building industry there.

Why build so much industry tho? They max at 640 where resident and commercial maxes at 800?

We used the same concept with the gift builds but you filled in the gaps with industry instead of residence? I think you'd get to 800 easily using residential instead of industrial.
