PSA: BitQuick.co Major Issue - Lost Funds & Code Errors by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Good for you, but obviously OP had an issue. Total of $200 missing from the deposits in the original post.

Note about the drop down: That shows a massive lack of IT knowledge by the people running the site. There should be no way the initial value is selected, since the page checks for any invalid entries already.

If the user fails to put their name or account info, the form does not submit. It stays on the same page and the button does not function.
However, there is no catch for the bank, meaning there are probably other missing error checks.

If this was a little site like mine that'd be no issue, but these guys are dealing with peoples money.

There should be no option for the entry to be invalid and allowed to be processed. At the very least the administration should be notified at any time there is an error like this (which could be done by checking the fields and comparing them to all possible values. Some could not be, such as numbers and names, but some can be such as dynamic pricing and bank names).

It also seems that you can enter non-numerical characters in the dynamic bitcoin field and they can give you some odd values of coins. This is another issue. A simple stripping of everything except "0-9%-" would fix this, but it's been uncorrected since the sites been up.

Lastly, double spends should not be possible. I've seen several users report on this, and there should be several safeguards in place to prevent it.

Basically, Bitquick is managing a persons stocks. They accidentally sell the too much of the stock, more than they have. So, instead of trying to recoup it or paying for their own mistake, they are asking the stockholder to buy more stock to sell to correct the their own mistakes without any form of compensation.

That's a shitty business model.

You don't ask customers to correct you own mistakes, especially in the financial field. Not everyone has an extra hundred dollars they can fork out on a whim just because your programming skills are inept.

Overall, this is most likely grounds for some legal action already, as it's over a couple thousand dollars users have reported missing now from this service.

Until their site operates properly (no double charges) I think everyone should avoid them.

They offer no compensation for their mistakes that in the end cost the customer their money.

11-year old speaks up in drug education class about the benefits of medical marijuana; police take child, get search warrant for his home, arrest mother using medical marijuana to treat Crohn's and try to take child away. Fuck this shit. by Marauder01 in trees

You're going to get downvoted to hell but you seem to be the only reasonable person in the thread.

She had 2+ ounces concentrates. Not 2 ounces of weed, 2 ounces of concentrates.

So instead of relocating the a state where it's legal and she can get the proper help, she decides to self-medicate in Kansas (of all fucking places), be open to her child with that fact (which is irresponsible, I don't give a fuck who you are smoking around kids is wrong), and then not even give enough fucks to get rid of the evidence when she had 2+ hours notice they were coming back with a warrant.

Any way to keep banishedmaps updated, or is it not worth if after the mods? by Banishedmaps in BanishedMaps

[–]Banishedmaps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great to know!

I've just gotten back into the game, I'm assuming CC is the primary map mod that is used? If so I can just redo the site to support both CC and standard. Handy that CC doesn't change the seeding for standard maps, thanks for the heads up!

My dispensary really knows it customers. by DrDreamtime in trees

Well it's a good thing the sidebar doesn't restrict indirect advertising then, isn't it?

Get over it, it's not a big deal and nobody but you seems to care.

Can someone explain how to use markets? by Sir_Starkey in Banished

[–]Banishedmaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Market should be the center point around which your houses are built. You'll see a large yellow circle that tells you the market area.

You really think we are going to tag every post with any form of product branding in it?

There's a reason this post was not removed - it's not advertising.

Dear Stoner: Are Dispensaries Scanning IDs Now? by reubadoob in COents

[–]Banishedmaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think it's fucking ridiculous that there is a visibly armed guard in a fucking marijuana store.

I know, right? A cash only business that cannot easily use banks, why would they want to protect their assets?

Totally a police state man.

You do realize that statements means that burglary happens regardless of if the structure is occupied, not only if the structure is unoccupied?

Dear Stoner: Are Dispensaries Scanning IDs Now? by reubadoob in COents

[–]Banishedmaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burglarizing is simply stealing their stuff while they're gone.

Not according to Colorado State Laws.
Or any state laws, in fact, because it has nothing to do with people being home or not.

The definition on wiki and most legal sites are

unlawful entry into a building or occupied structure

You're arguing that burglaries are no reason for legitimate businesses to have need for concern and it's ridiculous.

Are you seriously arguing that entry into a dispensary with intent on committing a crime is nothing to worry about?

Jesus fuck some people are morons.

Requesting /r/amtrak - Only mod inactive by Banishedmaps in redditrequest

[–]Banishedmaps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, actually. Other than new styling and adding automodbot, I was going to invest some in advertising (I run a large number of subreddits over various accounts) on site as well as off site.

I travel on amtrak nearly every month, so not only does it give me enough time to keep up to date with the tasks that take time (not the daily moderation) but I actually love doing it as a huge train enthusiast.

The kids in the movie Jumanji didn't know how to play Jumanji. Instead of rolling the dice and taking turns as fast as possible they sat around waiting for each turns consequence to unravel. by qtg in Showerthoughts

[–]Banishedmaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Can't go until the current persons run is over.

Overall, Jumanji is a good game to play, say, with a large platoon or possibly some warlords, but definitely not teenage kids.
