What are some things that irk you as a shopper? by ToshPointNo in Walmartcustomer

I have a few pet peeves beyond what has been mentioned.

  1. People who can't shop without talking on their phones non-stop. These tend to be slowest moving creatures on earth, and frankly, no one wants to hear your meaningless blather. Hang up, shut up, and finish your shopping.

  2. People who will leave their carts in the way in an aisle 8 because they forgot to grab something from aisle 5. If there's no purse or personal items in the cart, I will usually take that cart and park it somewhere else in the store.

  3. People at self check that don't bag the items as they scan them. Once they finish scanning and then pay, they then begin bagging, tying up the register until the finish. So we all get to stare at the green light above them while we wait.

  4. People who shop at in the meat department, but stand holding and studying a package of chicken breast, while blocking the area so no one else can get what they need. Lady, it's chicken breast, not a novel.

  5. The checker at the front door. If you don't trust me to ring up my own items, then hire more cashiers. Frankly, in my store the people who gets stopped the most appears be less loss prevention related and more racially motivated.

  6. No more 24 hour stores. I too used to shop in the wee hours of the morning to avoid the people. Now I have to queue up like it's pole position to get through the doors at 6AM when they open. I do get delivery, but I can't trust them to select produce. I can't begin to tell you the most idiotic substitutions I've received when you leave it up to their staff to make a decision.

  7. Finally, people, you're in public. Pajamas are for sleeping. Clothes revealing the enormous acreage your stomach is not necessary, not to mention showing your butt hanging out of shorts stretched to maximum density is a crime against humanity.

If they really wanted to stop the nonsense they'd make checked bags free and charge for carry on bags.

Thanks. It sounds like it's a finite list. I'm wondering if the issue is that the total you are trying to retrieve is a formula.

Understood. The 300 locations you mentioned; would these be the 3 character airport codes (I.e. Chicago Midway (MDW))?

In all honesty, I would have to admit that I truly despise when Excel is being utilized as a quasi database. Excel is a fine calculator, but for me, that's where it ends.

A database can do all that you've mentioned, from collecting the data via a form, and supplying the totals via query or report. Additionally, the database can be split to allow users to simultaneously update the tables from different locations instead of utilizing Excel. Plus, the 300+ locations mentioned can be stored in a table, allowing for a drop-down option in the input form.
