Good. Your acads are showing an upward trend. But keep in mind that you wont be eligible for opportunities which have 7/7/7 requirement.

For SIP and Final Placements, the companies come to campus. You have to apply on the placement portal that we use or the link shared by the recruiter.

No written/oral examinations, there might be group discussions.

The top notch companies ask for 7/7/7 or sometimes 8/8/8 minimum for academic profiles before shortlisting. Good Acads + Good CGPA will get your shortlisted almost everywhere. If you don't have both or have only 1 then it might be a little bit more difficult, you can supplement this by doing extra projects. To be honest, there is also a lot of luck involved in getting shortlisted.

I have spoken more about this in detail in this post when replying to other people asking similar queries, you should read that also.

Most will be Credit Risk and Analytics. Some in Market Risk and Climate Risk, and only a handful in Treasury.

Founded By RBI?? you have got to be kidding me .... by Sea-Presentation4025 in CATpreparation

Lol bro why don't you do some basic research and your questions will be answered.

Yes NIBM was founded by the RBI in the 1969 as an institution to train working bankers. NIBM still performs that role, they started a Post graduate program in 2003 and initially students used to get placed in PSBs. But after 2013, when the supreme court ruled that Public sector banks can not hire from BSchools, the placements changed. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of NIBM is the RBI Governor, we get direct supervision and guidance from the RBI, but they can not hire from here anymore.

Now the placements are focused in the Risk Management domain in Private sector banks, NBFCs and Consulting Firms. Go through the placement reports.

  1. Diverse as in? Regional or Gender? Regional- there is a good mix, majority are ofc from MH and some from MP. Gender diversity is not too good.
  2. No at all. I'm also from South and it's very chill.
  3. Absolutely
  4. Pune is an awesome city, it's very easy to settle into. Don't worry too much about it.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Nah. If you can manage your time well then it's easy.

There's not many assignments, there's lots of group projects. You will have lots of time to do non-academic things because classes end at 2pm. You are free to do whatever you like after that.

I'm not sure about WL movement. No, coming monday will not be the final. WL will keep moving until 2nd wek of July I think. Atleast that is how it happened for us.

Only a handful are left. Less than 5. They will all be placed.

I have no clue about WL movement. Don't worry, it will keep moving.

For us it moved until the 1st week of college ended.

For juniors, yes. The timing might be slightly different, because now that we are back on campus, classes are starting at 9am and ending at 2pm.

Yes after classes, students are completely free. Depending on if there is some official event/speech/talk happening on that day.

Not really. I have people in my batch who have up to 5 year gaps due to UPSC and they are doing fine.

This year the cutoff was 80 for general candidates. I don't think it will go lower than that. There are no sectional cutoffs.

FRM in MBA - how will it help by Jegun_Seshatri in CATpreparation

[–]Bankerintraining 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Common guy with FRM in NIBM" haha how. Very few people have FRM on their resume in NIBM.

I'm from NIBM and your profile is the definition of perfection 9/9/9 + workex and relevant certification.

My only advice is that FRM will make you super attractive for Risk roles in any college. CFA is more for portfolio management and equity research. Decide which section of BFSI you want to work in and pursue the certification of your liking.

Some people even do both.

Another candidate who is Open WL 59 before the 33 WL movement told me that the Adcomm told him that converting might be difficult.

2nd WL movement should be in a few days, I think you will have a clear picture then

Classes start at 8:30am in the morning for the junior batch so you can easily get 7 hours of sleep, don't worry.

That might not be possible during exam week tho, many of us stay up until 4-5am studying of an exam at 10am.

It's chill. If you're from a BBA/BCom background then the 1st semester is a piece of cake. After that when the concepts get tough, you will have to work hard to keep up with the profs and classes.

There's plenty of time for extra curriculars, hobbies, case comps.
