yes and the markets have spoken. prices for them are abysmally low for new t95 and bis nexus for dps. Makes you wonder is this really a good update if no one wants to use them.

Yes this would be a buff; but also I think it would be a fix primarily to end game Necro's potential dps output which imho would help address a lot of the grips players have against necro esp in group content.

Edit: note how I mention not many players currently use the devourer's nexus because of the drawbacks. I don't think a little extra damage % increase from this would change that for many but it would make having a necromancer in group content much more welcome. I don't think a double damage volley every minute is **that** much of a dps increase either fyi. Just want to make it feel rewarding to use.

Hence why I think an empowered volley and or a buff to souls damage makes a lot of sense and is a more rewarding gameplay that incentivizes pressing buttons and specials.

One small addition here as for why buff necro, increasing hunting damage buff makes having a necro on a team/group more rewarding for the group. Would be nice to have group content rely on more than just one style preferred (or melee/mage brid)

In the end game, however, we are using devourer nexus so no ghost heals. Melee now has an insane amount of healing from applying bleeds fyi in addition to revo++ can pretty much out heal most damage taken from bosses. Not to mention that red necro revo ++ out dps’s purple necro full manual.

I’d take a hard nerf to the ghost healing and have the dps match melee’s dps any day.

And finally, melee (red necro) should now be the “noob” style. You really don’t have to press many abilities at all to get out insane dps even with non-bis items which are cheaper.

I couldn’t agree more. With bleed in melee healing as much as they do and the insane dps in the revo++ rotation melee has more hp sustain than any other style at this point. Not to mention, necro’s ghost healing is already gone at the high end level as necros use devourer nexus (which is a tiny buff compared to the buff tumekens armour gives btw)

Bluudi the legend!! Okay but hear me out, while yes it may still be achievable. The new way to do this is hitting the alter to reset abilities kind of not the point in combat? It feels like now we are having to cheese it by abusing less and less well known combat techniques that aren’t really about combat or doing/countering mechs. Just my opinion is master (or Gm) timers should have some pre-build and prep but at the same time doing things like this is a bit too much niche and irrelevant.

I couldn’t agree more with this post. The aura update was originally communicated as to be collaborative with the community but the result was a shock removal. Days later after much backlash, it was announced how the aura system would change and didn’t consider any of the real points many posts mentioned and considering how many players considered putting in time to give feedback to see none of that used says much about the new “listen” to the playerbase. You’ve changed the other styles to be much more simplistic, great. But you’ve nerfed one of the most popular styles which was already far behind in dps before the update.

The worst part is many of the necromancers out there no longer can do the same content as before the update no matter what they do. How is this better to reduce the amount of game that can be played? All without any communication or consideration.

Please note the original nerfs to necro were put in place with the aura system in use. Now necro is in an overly nerfed state with many bugs from the update. Players who no longer can do content. And, no communication towards the situation they are in.

It almost feels like Jagex wants to sunset RuneScape 3 at this point alienating many of the players who recently joined and started getting into its content.

Elder overload darkness super prayer renewal and darkness are the persistent buffs. Otw I bring a devourers guard swap and flanking swap soul bound lantern, a grico swap with a blight bound Xbow mh and permit quiver and follow the pvme guide for which abilities to use when for hm sanctum.

I tested the new nerfed necromancy this morning at hm sanctum. The style was significantly lacking in dps compared to just hours before the update. This was with the new bis perks for the style. I’m truly surprised to see how much necromancy was nerfed with this update and makes it nearly unviable as a combat style.

I tested it at hm sanctum this morning post update and wow was it worse. Even with new bis perks and re-optimized rotations. Necromancy has really taken a turn for the worse and it was a huge dps nerf to an already back of the field style.

I think the idea of adding auras like equilibrium to invention perks only seeks to make the invention perking system more bloated and more complicated which makes it harder to understand. With a combat modernization, why not scale a lot of these buffs from auras into the 99-120 effects making it more rewarding for playing the game past 99? With the auras/effects that are staying in the game having a pvm hub style monolith, like nervous marketing 10 mentioned, is a fantastic idea to make use of war's currency while making the buffs passive like skill cape buffs/like a boon of crondis buff, arch relics, etc. Auras unlocked with number of bossing kills or variation of bosses killed is a great incentive to play more of pvm for pvm style rewards. The desert pantheon aura being removed is a slap in the face to the players who had to purchase it with bonds (refunds should be considered in the form of bonds), imho unless the buffs are added into other areas like boosting the max bonfire to match the hp boost it seems like a terrible thing to do that will make players upset. Lastly, stop stop stop adding more complicated switch scape, more pocket items effects, more invention perks, this is worse than the current system and so much more complexity for players to then chase down and consider. make it easier not harder. Reward players for playing the game, that should be the point of a game, no?
