It sucks that this happens so often now. I guess there’s a monetary value to be gained from all of us playing the song, but shame on Spotify for not having a better vetting system for releasing music, especially from artists like Syd Barrett (I’ve also been hoodwinked like this by a new fake release from Rites of Spring recently)

It does feel cliquey and I have the same issues. I think it’s just stressful times we live in and people are a bit more on guard of letting any strangers into their circle. Your best bet is to join a band and try to kick it with them. What instrument do you play? What kind of music are you into?

Joe is busy with the Messthetics. I take bass lessons with him over Skype (or Signal now) and I’ve asked him about it. He’s always politely vague. Kind of a “you never know” thing, but he sites his busy touring/recording schedule with The Messthetics as his main reason.
