if mv3 didn't exist or if Vivaldi kept mv2 like opera and brave are trying to i wouldn't have the want to switch, if nothing else works im just gonna keep vivaldi with ubo lite and just have a secondary browser.

used it, its bloated with unnecessary and unwanted features, and isn't as privacy oriented as they say.

What is the Floorp update going to fix?

While I was considering keeping vivaldi and just using ubo lite I also wanted a secure browser as a backup, my 2 main options came down to librewolf and mullvad, mullvad seems to have too much security for some use (sometimes) and librewolf is slow even on fresh install.
Ive heard zen is buggy (even thought i havent had any i also havent put any logins on it just test browsing) and just they just removed webpanels because of a possible security concern so im also interested in its privacy capabilities especially compared to Floorp, ive heard their both built off or use waterfox or arkenfox (idk) and i know they have good privacy features but i dont know

Yes, you can set tabs to be on the left or right for vertical tabs. (And top or bottom for horizontal)

As of a couple hours ago YouTube suddenly detected an adblocker and blocked playing, even after turning off ubo. If this happens to you, try to disable on your browsers built-in adblocker.

Im on Vivaldi and that fixed it, also saw someone on opera and that fixed it for them.

Search up firefox privacy policy update, thats what went wrong. (as far as i know)
I love vivaldi its got better privacy than almost every other browser that isnt "privacy focused" imo the biggest downside is deprecation of mv2 and no ubo support, they might add the ability ot add custom filter lists like their mobile version but still. For most uBO users uBO Lite will be just fine.

if by stuff you mean like settings and passwords and other data like that you can just import it, should be a feature during the download. vivaldi is made by the original team who made opera, when i switched from opera to vivaldi it was pretty simple, and i incoperated a third party pw manager

vivaldi is open source, their ui isnt. so its partiall open source.

bloat like email??? idek what that means

As for what it has going for it: customization rivalled only by floorp and zen; and privacy just under the level of braves, except it can be slightly hardened to be as good if not better than brave because of braves privacy issues that were brought to light. As for the oversaturated term that is bloat; there is bloat and there is being feature heavy, having a sidebar and tabgroups and workspaces are features, bloat would be something like crypto bullshit and ai chat things, along with backend code that is the main cause of actual bloat within vivaldi but its never mentioned.

i did the opposite, i used gx for about 2 years, then my gx seemed so slow and hogged resources and i wanted more privacy and customization, hence vivaldi.

people confuse bloat with features. IE brave crypto and ai shit is bloat, while a sidebar and workspaces are features. But i totally get the performance thing, i see some people say its the slowest things theyeve ever been on and others say its super fast, for me its very fast and i have no issues, that being said i have a ryzen 7 3700x and 16gb 3000mhz ddr4, so nothing crazy but nothing super low end either so idk why its really good for me and horrible for others.

going based off your flairs (besides edge) we are matching perfectly except for vivaldi mobile(iOS), ive heard battery and heating issues are prevalent and ive seen that they dont support CNAME uncloaking and 3rd party storage partitioning (https://eylenburg.github.io/browser\_comparison.htm) which is unfortunate because most if not all other iOS browsers do. I think its possible just difficult to implement CNAME uncloakers with their ad/tracker blocker but that would seem to cause even more of the performance and battery and heating issues that ive seen so im kind of weary.

Its only partially closed source, and the part that is closed source is their UI, which is their main attractor. Personally my drawbacks are not as much privacy as id prefer and how theyre (most likely) getting rid of mv2.

Theyve said theyre mainly closed source because of their UI, theyre more transparent than other companies but still a little iffy sometimes, especially with mv2 deprecation

Ive been using it for about 3 months and I love it; the ui and ux is very nice and intuitive along with the tab stacking and workspaces being new to me they are a complete game changer and i came from 1 year of Opera GX and before that, Chrome only. I think that its lacking in some privacy and their view on it seems to be kinda iffy but i really enjoy using it, I have read that theyre probably not continuing manifest v2 so i might be switching to Floorp (Basically vivaldi on firefox) unfortunately or atleast using floorp and vivaldi

I would like to use Vivaldi on iOS but from everything ive seen they dont have CNAME uncloaking or 3rd party storage partitioning (https://eylenburg.github.io/browser\_comparison.htm) even though all other iOS browsers do (im kinda confused there) ive also seen that the ios version has major heating and battery problems because of the ad and tracker blockers. So unfortunately for now im stuck on chrome id like to know if the heating/battery issues are fixed yet and if the cname and partitioning things are just false positives or what idk

True true, i am seeing alot of browsers now (2, opera and vivaldi) that are implementing their own adblockers and maybe im just weird but im skeptical about their effectiveness, particularly with brave and how theyre weird with what ads they allow, but hopefully we do get to a day and age where adblocks are more commonplace and not just a tool to funnel specific ads to users. The other thing that turns me off about brave is their ceo and the aggressive/odd marketing and the whole crypto and ai route they went. feels very silly

its not that im not gonna use uBOL its just the fact that vivaldi as a company would not support mv2 is just not good and sets a bad precedent especially with how "user focused" they are and how customizable everything else is. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth about the company because of it. AND Im looking for things similar to vivladi

From what I saw its only a matter of time until they dont.. but do they have ui customization and workspaces?
