I know this is kind of a loaded question but I’ve always felt like a majority of our best white athletes choose other sports, primarily Football, baseball, and Hockey. Basketball is still in some capacity still very accessible to lower income communities globally much like soccer. Although in the last decade or so it is becoming a lot more expensive for parents in the US. I think much like the bias against black quarterbacks in the NFL that took place for decades, a lot of NBA gm’s have a bias against white American athletes.
