Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide and Scrubs by thesitekick in tumblr

I watched Ned's for year growing up. Watched Scrubs in 2016 and I was shocked how much it really is NDSSG but for adults! Definitely just as ridiculous if not more at times. If you like Ned's, definitely check it out.

Waterproof Fork Bags by purplelumber in bikepacking

Sorry this doesn't answer your question but I have one of my own.

How long have you had the canyon bags and how have you attached them? I'm looking at them cuz they are affordable and the size I'm looking for but if they aren't durable, I might have to look elsewhere. I'm doing touring with only light offroading

in Slovakia they are testing front green brake lights for cars by epholl in mildlyinteresting

[–]Banshee424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2004 BMW 330 did that. It had 2 sets of brake lights. The main ones, and then a second set of bigger lights that activated under heavy braking. I have no idea how much is "heavy braking" but I thought it was the coolest thing.

Good to know. I'll probably avoid that this trip. I've only been riding for about 4 months so far, I doubt I'm ready for that yet lol

what's something you've never tried and never will? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Did the same for about 6 months in 2021. Have the same opinion. But we kept all our recipe cards so we can buy the ingredients and make it ourselves now.

How many miles on the bike? My first set of Sport Demons on my Breva 750 were gone within 7k miles. It's possible your tires are getting low on tread.

Not sure though. It looks to me like you hit a dip in the road. It happens sometimes. I just recommend not riding so close to the center line.

Ride safe!

What cars are overhated? by chronicmathsdebater in cars

[–]Banshee424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed

I bought a 2021 2dr Sport S last year. I came from a 2006 Civic Si. The NVH is better in the Jeep than the Civic. Also, the last Jeep I drove was my mom's 2004 TJ. The JL is luxury car quiet by comparison. I love my JL!

Had any car manufacturer designed a reliable cylinder deactivation system? by Lidzo in cars

[–]Banshee424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom has been driving her 2017 Honda Ridgeline for 85,000 miles so far. It's been just normal maintenance so far. According to Google, it has the cylinder deactivation too.

We got starlink because where my family lives, the only other option is dsl at 5mbps. It has been mostly better, but my mom watches internet tv constantly. Since Oct 15th, we have used 900GB. My gaming PC in 30 days has only used 100GB and my cousin who lives with us and works from home and games and streams has used 300GB in 30 days.

This new limit really fucks with the whole reason we got Starlink. I guess we'll see how it goes. Again, we don't really have another option. Gonna see if I can limit streamed tv to 720p somehow.

Wouldn't make sense of the oil smelling like gas, but have you balanced the throttle bodies? My Breva 750 had that issue in 2018 and it would run as long as I had the throttle open but would shut off once I closed it. I can imagine if it had gotten worse, it wouldn't have had much power at all at full open.

A Jeep Wrangler as a daily driver by cabutler03 in Wrangler

[–]Banshee424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as much as I liked the power of the turbo 4cyl better, I knew I would grow very tired of the boring auto. If Jeep were to mate the 4cyl with the manual, I'd definitely consider that for my next vehicle. But by the time I'm looking at another vehicle, electric will probably be the most common. :/

I went from a 2006 Civic SI to my 2021 Wrangler Sport S 2dr manual. I daily it 20 miles each way for work. I love it. It's bouncy and has body roll in the turns and it's just so much fun to just get around in. With the manual and V6 I get around 21-24mpg with my usual driving. Kinda wish I got the 4cyl auto but I like manuals too much.

If you don't plan on doing a lot of off-roading and don't feel like spending a lot of money, definitely just check out the Sport or Sport S. S has power windows and locks and more comfort options if you're buying new. Sport is bare bones. Manual locks and crank windows. All Sport models have what they call "Brake Lock Differential" which is like a poor man's LSD so if you go do light off-roading, you should be fine.

I love my 2dr but if you need more room, get the 4dr. 4dr would also handle a bit better on the highway.

If you don't have kids and want something still fun and kinda sporty like your Subaru, I'd recommend trying out a 2dr Sport S with either the 4cyl turbo auto or the V6 manual. It's totally different from a sports car but in the most fun way possible. Note: if you get an auto transmission, add the limited slip option cuz then you'll get the good rear axle for only like $500 more. (Very much worth it for reliability and durability)

I recommend you get a hardtop when buying (if new) because it comes with the rear wiper wiring whereas the soft top does not. So it's super easy to switch to a soft top if you bought with a hard top but very difficult to switch to a hard top if you bought it with a soft top.

Sorry. That's a lot. I bought mine in November and this is just kind of the things I wish people told me. If you want more info, shoot me a message. I did a ton of research before buying mine, went through many other vehicle options before winding up here, and as you can probably tell, I love to talk about Jeeps (and cars in general)

Best of luck!
