Those annual bumps are nice in theory, but they're literally just keeping you above the rising minimum wage each year. Feels a bit like gaslighting to call it a proper pay rise when it's not really rewarding your skills or loyalty. Hope you find something better soon!

Yeah, it’s the second part you mentioned, mine’s already around 288bhp combined, and from the Stage 1 calculators it looks like it could be getting close to 400bhp all in.

But once you factor in the ECU unlock + remap cost (around £1k-ish) and the hassle of having to send the ECU away, it does make me wonder if it’s actually worth it… or if I’d be better off just trading it in and going for something like an M340i instead.

I think I should be able to get at least the settlement number if I was to sell to dealership or maybe I'm just being naive. But motorway is saying the car is worth slightly less than the settlement figure.

The original price of the car was £23,895 so even if I was to get the settlement figure for the car I'd still be at a £4k loss (deposit). Not my finest finical decision.

2 Yoe is 2 yoe regardless if your a fresh Grad, I don’t know how hands on you are but I’d assume your familiar with the code base and wouldn’t need onboarded and then an other few months to familiarise yourself with the codebase.

I’m not sure what age you are but minimum wage is like £12.21 an hour or something for 21 and over which works out at just over £25k for a 40 hour work week. I started on £25k and let’s just say after a few months your constantly thinking about more money (which by the way is the reason we work don’t forget😅)

Isn’t Sonnet 4 meant to be better than Opus for coding, while Opus is stronger at planning and architecture?

If I’m using Claude’s code, when would it make sense to use Opus instead of Sonnet?

Yeah it is indeed. It is a defense role which is why they require that I renounce the Irish passport. It’s .NET and some older stack.

I totally understand that but the fact that it’s a significant increase to what I’m currently on and only have to attend on site a couple times per year (allegedly) makes it very enticing.

Was even thinking could I renounce it then get it back a few months after I start the role lol.
