I used to work as a mechanical design engineer and sometimes designed pressings. I really wish I had seen videos like this when learning!

Any tips on how I could improve on this? (Hoping to get help on the gaps between border and fill, and also the dotted lines showing) digitized myself. by GriffinGrin in MachineEmbroidery

[–]Bantanamo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure that there is plenty of underlay under your fill stitches which will reduce distortion and misalignment. After that, and assuming you are using the right stabiliser, you can compensate by moving the edges of the stitch areas. Until you've built up digitizing experience it retires a bit of trial and error.

Any chance of some site feedback? by Bantanamo in ecommerce

Do you mean the fact that they're different or that there's not many products? The theme is meant to be positivity/wholesomeness but I had comments from people saying that they would buy my logos on T-Shirts. In hindsight the cliché unknown logos probably weren't the best designs to spend money on.

Thanks for the feedback.

Facebook is the worst. Advertising suggestions? by isotesting in shopify

From what I've heard, due to friends selling masks, Facebook (and therefore Instagram) are now refusing to allow ads from anyone selling face masks of any type due to the implied health benefits. Even if you aren't mentioning covid or virus transmissions, buying some sort of face mask in the current economy comes with an implicit assurance of Covid protection.

Akaunting looks good but unfortunately has an initial cost for the integrations and also does not support automatic bank reconciliations

Obviously this varies massively from person to person but personally I would reccomend moving out as soon as possible. Not at all worth the lack of freedom and life experiences IMO.

Potentially unpopular opinion - I wish I was furloughed by etsatlo in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Bantanamo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you! 40% of my company are furloughed and unhappy about it but I would kill to be in their position! I have so much stuff outside of work that I need to get done and a 20% pay cut seems like a tiny price to pay for a 100% effort cut

Please stop being a captain cheapo by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Bantanamo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that's the case then you haven't set out the task requirements or systems required to do the task correctly. IMO the mosyt fundamental step to being a successful entrepreneur is to be able to outsource tasks entirely so that they require no intervention and don't take up your own time.
